West Brom vs Fulham: Match details
Match: West Bromwich Albion vs Fulham
Competition: Premier League
Date: January 30, 2021
Kick-off time: 3:00 pm, January 30, 2021 (UK time)
Stadium: The Hawthorns
Betting prediction: West Brom 0-1 Fulham
Fulham’s recent run of fixtures – apart from the 3-0 loss against Burnley in the FA Cup – have shown signs of promise on some level. Despite being far down the table, Scott Parker’s troops have shown the capability to keep things tight and defend while being able to spring on the break with some level of effectiveness.
They have West Bromwich Albion’s number in recent meetings (2-4-0), while in their previous twenty-four clashes the Cottagers have tasted defeat just four times (10-10-4) against their weekend opponent. This is the perfect opportunity for Fulham to net their first win in the Premier League since November.
West Brom vs Fulham: Recommended bets
– Correct Score: Fulham 1-0
Both Fulham and West Bromwich Albion come into the weekend with the same goal return thus far this season; fifteen goals. Neither have shown any consistent ability to find the back of the net this term, but the difference maker could be Albion’s poor defensive record both recently and overall. The Baggies have already allowed forty-eight goals in twenty outings, including eighteen in their last five, which is hardly a platform to build results on even with Fulham’s struggle for goals. It should be a tight affair none the less.
– Halftime/Full-time: Tie-Fulham
It’s very hard to see many goals coming in this one. A better side – as City showed recently – could easily run the rule over a West Brom-side who simply cannot defend. But Fulham’s own lack of goals means they may need to look for a second-half push to see three points over the line.

West Brom vs Fulham: Match preview
It has truly been a season to forget for West Bromwich Albion. Though it may never be an easy task to re-establish yourself in the Premier League once you secure promotion, the Baggies have shown themselves incapable of building a platform at either end this season.
West Brom finally registered their first three-point haul on matchday ten, but would have to wait a further eight fixtures to find their second. Boasting the worst defensive record in the English top-flight, Sam Allardyce needs to mastermind something… quickly.
The bright spot that has been Matheus Pereira is a nice accent market on an otherwise anemic attack for West Brom, who have scored two goals or more on only three occasions all season. But they’ve proven themselves capable on their day. Though that day has not come with any regularity, positive results against Chelsea (3-3), Manchester City (1-1), Liverpool (1-1), and Wolverhampton Wanderers (3-2) speak to a side who can perform.
Building some measure of consistency in their level of performances is absolutely vital over the immediate period, and a key fixture against relegation-threatened Fulham would signal the perfect chance to build their house on more solid ground.
Can Fulham’s defense provide a springboard for results?
One win in your last ten is hardly the type of form to be viewed as something to build on, but the base-level fact of wins coming at a premium for Scott Parker and Fulham is a little misleading. In the same period, the Cottagers have earned six draws, including results against Tottenham, Southampton, and Liverpool; sides vying for European qualification. Their sole win in that time frame? A 2-1 result against Leicester City; another side looking to the European promised land.
This is a Fulham side that are capable of much better, and though it looked dire in the earlier parts of the campaign, all that is missing from the Craven Cottage outfit is goals. Their record at the back is immeasurably better than that of a side currently languishing in the bottom three.
Perhaps even more impressively, Fulham have surrendered just eight goals since their result against the Foxes. As a side build on paper – and in practice in Parker’s tactical schematics – to be a direct counter-attacking side, putting faith in keeping it simple may be the avenue which needs to be navigated to safety.
Dates with Leicester, West Ham United, and Everton are just over the horizon, so there is no better time than now for just a few more goals to be extracted from a Fulham attacking core that is better than the data suggests. Squaring off against the league’s worst defense is the right acid test at the right time.
