Watford vs Bournemouth betting tips: Premier League preview & predictions

Watford vs Bournemouth prediction: Watford 2-2 Bournemouth

Two of the Premier League’s form teams meet at Vicaridge Road.

They sit sixth and seventh in the table at the moment, level on 13 points, and both will hope to continue their good form here.

Can either keep tabs with the top 5 as the season goes on?

Watford vs Bournemouth: Who will win?

This is a tough one to call.

Watford, as hosts are favourites at 11/10.

Bournemouth are 23/10 to get their second win of the week.

A draw is 13/5.

The 14 games involving these two have produced 43 goals so far; over 2.5 goals is 8/11.

Watford celebrate

Watford celebrate during the Premier League match between Watford FC and Crystal Palace at Vicarage Road on August 26, 2018 in Watford, United Kingdom.

Troy Deeney has netted twice already this season and is 11/2 to score first and 7/4 to score anytime.

Callum Wilson is the only Bournemouth player to have scored more than once this season. He is 6/1 to score first and 2/1 to net anytime.

Watford vs Bournemouth: Match preview

The Hornets are looking to recapture their early season form.

Javi Gracia’s side shocked everybody by starting with four consecutive wins, beating Brighton, Burnley, Crystal Palace and Spurs.

However, they haven’t won any of their last three.

Manchester United ended their unbeaten start which was followed by a 1-1 draw at Fulham.

They were also dumped out the Carabao Cup by Tottenham on penalties.

Last weekend, two late goals saw them lose 2-0 at Arsenal; a game they deserve at least a point from.

They’ve slid down the table in recent weeks so can they reverse that here?

Impressive Bournemouth

Bournemouth too have impressed so far.

They started with back to back wins over Cardiff and West Ham before coming from 2-0 down to draw with Everton.

Chelsea ended their unbeaten start but a week later they hammered Leicester.

A fortnight ago, a trip to Burnley could hardly have gone any worse as Eddie Howe’s side were beaten 4-0.

However, on Monday night they proved that that was just an anomaly, scoring late to beat Crystal Palace.

That leaves them level on 11 points with Watford; at this stage last season they had just 4.

They’ve also made it through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after wins over Milton Keynes Dons and Blackburn Rovers.

They’ll host Norwich for a place in the last 8.

Their highest top flight finish to date is ninth so can they improve on that come what May?

Javi Gracia named the same team for their first 6 games but was forced into one change last weekend at Arsenal

Ben Foster will retain his place in goal.

That one change came at right back.

Daryl Janmaat is out with a knee injury so, summer signing from Espanyol, Marc Navarro will retain his place.

Abdoulaye Doucouré and Étienne Capoue have formed a formidable partnership in midfield.

Argentine winger Roberto Pereyra has scored 3 goals already this season.

As has Andre Gray who, alongside Troy Deeney, will cause any defence problems.

Just as he was at Arsenal, Isaac Success will be a threat off the bench.

Both José Holebas and Étienne Capoue will have to be careful; both are one booking away from suspension.

Asmir Begović has started all 7 league games in goal for Bournemouth.

They’re without a recognised left back at the moment. Diego Rico is out but Charlie Daniels is almost back having played in an under 21 game on Tuesday.

As he did on Monday night, Adam Smith will make the transition from right back to left.

Nathan Aké will returning to Vicarage Road today. He made 24 league stats for Watford during a season long loan spell.

David Brooks may have scored his first Premier League goal on Monday but they did improve in the second half when he was taken off for Dan Gosling.

Nevertheless, the Welsh international should retain his place in the side.

Junior Stanislas came off the bench to score the winner with his very first touch on Monday but that won’t be enough to warrant him a start.

Josh King and Callum Wilson have formed a good partnership up front together and, like Gray and Deeney up the other end, will cause problems.

This should be an entertaining game awash with goals.
