Tottenham vs Cardiff 101 Great Goals prediction: Tottenham 4-0 Cardiff

Following Wednesday’s humbling at the hands of FC Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to make a quick response.

Spurs host a struggling Cardiff City who will deem anything other than a defeat as a success.

The Bluebirds have found life in the Premier League tough, they are currently sat 19th.

Tottenham vs Cardiff match preview

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be needing to brush themselves down quickly following their Champions League defeat in midweek.

Despite Lionel Messi’s genius, Tottenham were also the architects of their own downfall with some calamitous defending.

However, taking injuries into account and the sheer brilliance of the opposition Spurs produced a spirited performance.

Pochettino will be relieved to have Harry Kane back in the goals; with the 25-year-old netting four in his last three games.

Forwards Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura also made an impression on Wednesday and both players will be key in the coming weeks.

The Bluebirds’ back-line is struggling

Cardiff City have found their return back to the Premier League tough, to say the least.

Having conceded 14 goals in just their last four games, Neil Warnock faces a stern challenge in keeping out Kane and company.

His side are also winless in nine and on a run of five consecutive defeats in all competitions.

The Bluebirds have faced Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City over the past month and their chances of getting a result against Tottenham look bleak.

Champions League review: Tottenham 2-4 Barcelona

Lionel Messi’s genius guided Barcelona back to winning ways as his brace and assist downed Spurs.

The Argentine stole the headlines helping to create both the opener and Ivan Rakitic’s stunner before netting twice himself.

Injuries have begun to arrive thick and fast at Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently missing five first-team players.

Unsurprisingly, the Spurs players who have suffered the most from either fatigue or muscle injuries this season have been those who took part at this summer’s World Cup.

The North London club’s failure to make moves for new signings over the summer has given Pochettino no room to rest players and leaves him with a nightmare selection on Saturday.

Later this month, the situation could deteriorate yet further with Tottenham scheduled to play four games in just nine days.

The Argentine manager faces his toughest test as manager of the club in the coming month starting this weekend against Cardiff.
