Newcastle vs Burnley: Match details
Match: Newcastle vs Burnley
Competition: Premier League
Date: December 4, 2021
Kick-off time: 3:00 pm, December 4, 2021 (UK time)
Stadium: St James’ Park
Betting prediction: Newcastle 0-1 Burnley
It may not be the prediction that many will be hoping for, but the odds are ever in Burnley’s favor tomorrow against a Newcastle outfit that – though looking improved under Eddie Howe – have yet to secure a single three-point haul this season. The Clarets are difficult to beat of late as well, not tasting defeat in their previous five outings in the Premier League, and could be good value for a narrow road win here.
Newcastle vs Burnley: Recommended bets
Result/Both Teams to Score: Burnley/No (9/2 odds)
At 9/2 odds, Burnley continuing their undefeated run with a narrow win while keeping the Magpies off the scoresheet could be a decent bet.
To Score First: Maxwel Cornet (8/1 odds)
The biggest goal threat in the Burnley ranks this season, summer signing Maxwel Cornet has the complete attacking package that could really pull Newcastle apart at the back given their defensive struggles for large parts of the season up to this point, and he has a decent chance of adding to his club-leading 5-goals at St. James’.

Newcastle vs Burnley: Match preview
There is not much left to be said when it comes to Newcastle. The Magpies are no strangers to recent relegation campaigns in the Premier League, but the manner in which a club of their size has comported themselves on and off the pitch should signal massive cause for concern despite the new ownership consortium.
The appointment of Eddie Howe was a far cry from some of the names that the club was linked to when they began the hunt for Steve Bruce’s successor, and though his time with Bournemouth was credible, it is difficult to see how he matches what the new ownership potentially has in store on Tyneside. Howe deserves credit for Newcastle looking slightly improved in the early days of his tenure in truth, but without a win to their name and the weakest defense in the English top-flight at the minute, it is a massive job ahead if he is to pull the club from the mire and get them out of the relegation zone.

If his faith in Joelinton is anything to go by, then the English manager remains confident that he already has the pieces in place to achieve the short-term goal of Premier League survival.
Tomorrow’s opponent in Burnley offers a chance for Newcastle to find footing in the win column, but Sean Dyche’s Clarets are tough customers of late after they embarked on a five-match unbeaten run in the league. It is hardly enough of a point haul to see them charge up the table, though, as they still sit in the drop zone with just ten points to their name; seven of which came during the current unbeaten streak.
The same issues continue to plague the Clarets; not enough goals, a lack of genuine creativity, and a complete inability to spend enough in the market to considerably improve their standing in the Premier League.
Summer signing Maxwel Cornet has been a bright spot for the club, however, and is in with a shout as being one of the signings of the season as his 5-goals lead the club this term. His influence will be vital if Burnley hopes to keep their current streak alive as a win could see them climb out of the bottom three if Watford loses to Manchester City.
Newcastle team news vs Burnley
New Magpies boss Eddie Howe has a near-fully available squad to choose from when he searches for Newcastle’s first win of the season against visiting Burnley.
Ciaran Clark begins serving his suspension after his sending off last time out, and Paul Dummett remains out injured. The rest of the squad is available for selection.
Burnley team news vs Newcastle
Sean Dyche has just one headache as his Burnley outfit looks to extend their 5-match unbeaten run when they travel to St. James’ Park.
Influential striker Ashley Barnes is the only absentee in the Clarets camp, and Dyche’s men could fancy their chances against a side that is unquestionably the worst in the top flight at the minute.
