Manchester City vs Fulham: Recommended bets
Man City to keep a clean sheet. City have kept three consecutive clean sheets and will fancy their chances of extending that run. Only three sides in the league have conceded fewer goals at home than Man City (6).
Riyad Mahrez to score. Mahrez is in scoring form after bagging a hat-trick last weekend. The Algerian was an unused substitute in midweek and should start on Saturday.
Manchester City vs Fulham: Premier League match preview
Manchester City host Fulham at the Etihad on Saturday.
City moved up to 11th in the table with a resounding 5-0 win at home to Burnley last weekend. Riyad Mahrez scored a hat-trick, with Benjamin Mendy and Ferran Torres also getting on the scoresheet. City were also in midweek Champions League action, being held to a 0-0 draw in Porto in their penultimate group stage game.
Fulham’s winless streak came to an end on Monday as they pulled off a shock away win at Leicester to move out of the relegation zone. Ademola Lookman opened the scoring for the Cottagers on 30 minutes before Ivan Cavaleiro doubled Fulham’s lead from the penalty spot – putting an end to their supposed penalty curse, having missed their last 3 in the league. Fulham’s lead was halved late on but Scott Parker’s side managed to hold on and earn a crucial win.
Man City’s home form ranks 7th in the league, with two wins and a draw from their four games at the Etihad. Fulham’s away form ranks 17th, with one win from five matches on the road.
Monday’s win was Fulham’s first Premier League away victory since April 2019.
These two sides have faced each other 26 times in the Premier League, with Manchester City winning exactly half of those, drawing nine and losing the other four.
Man City have won nine consecutive matches against Fulham in all competitions. Fulham’s last win over City came 16 games ago in April 2009.
City were 2-0 winners when the sides last met at Craven Cottage in March 2019. Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero scored first-half goals for the visitors.
Manchester City team news vs Fulham
Sergio Aguero’s recent comeback from injury was short-lived. The Argentine has returned to the sidelines after picking up a knee injury against Olympiacos and is expected to miss out on Saturday.
Fit-again Gabriel Jesus started Tuesday’s game on the bench but is set to lead City’s attack against Fulham.
Kevin de Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, Aymeric Laporte, Kyle Walker, and Ilkay Gundogan were all unused substitutes against Porto and should be recalled to the starting eleven.
John Stones put in a solid shift against Burnley last weekend and may, somewhat undeservedly, drop to the bench.
Nathan Ake also returned to City’s bench following an injury, although he may have to settle for that again this weekend.
Fulham team news vs Manchester City
Scott Parker is unlikely to make too many changes from Monday’s win at Leicester, meaning Aleksandar Mitrovic may have to settle for a place on the bench once again.
Bobby Cordova-Reid started in an unfamiliar right-wingback role and could continue there.
This weekend comes too soon for Kenny Tete who is sidelined with a calf injury.
Terence Kongolo has returned to training but is unlikely to feature for Fulham until 2021.
Joshua Onomah is ruled out with an undisclosed injury.
Tosin Adarabioyo is set to face his former club. Adarabioyo made eight first-team appearances for City, but never featured for them in the Premier League.
