Liverpool FC vs Leeds United betting tips: Preview, predictions & odds

Mo Salah notched his 150th Liverpool goal against Norwich

Liverpool to win and BTTS - 13/10

Leeds's defence has been very leaky of late with 10 conceded in their last three, but they continue to pose a threat going forward and are usually good for at least a goal, scoring six in those same three games. Their matches are usually open and full of attacking play, so expect no different.

BTTS, over three goals in the match, and Salah to score anytime - 21/10 (via Bet Builder)

Mo Salah enjoys playing against Leeds, with four goals in his three games against them. With Liverpool fancying their chances of putting a struggling defence to the sword, they could put a hatful past the visitors who will still pose a threat themselves.

Match preview

The two sides go into Wednesday's re-arranged game in polar opposite moods.

Liverpool have closed a big gap to Manchester City to just six points - with this their game in hand - and on the back of an eight-game winning streak without defeat since December 28, and having overturned a 1-0 deficit to see off Norwich 3-1 at the weekend.

Jurgen Klopp's side have suffered a couple of attacking injuries but have seen Luis Diaz make an immediate impact while Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have returned from AFCON duty without missing a beat to leave the Reds in rude health.

With a Carabao Cup final to come against Chelsea on Sunday and Leeds' reputation as one of the more physical teams in the league, Klopp chose to rotate his squad on Saturday so is likely to name a stronger side for what would have been considered a potential banana skin.

That was until recently, with Leeds suffering an alarming drop in form and leaking goals for fun.

Having conceded 10 goals in their last three games against Aston Villa, Everton and Manchester United, their defence is struggling to cope with the demands of the system and teams are carving them apart all too easily.

Even a brief comeback in the Roses clash couldn't stave off a defeat that leaves Marcelo Bielsa's side edging closer and closer to the relegation battle.

There remains a confidence that they should have enough to avoid the drop but given the nature of previous performances and their record against the top teams this season, there are fears around LS11 that things might get worse before they get better.

Liverpool FC team news

With Diogo Jota ruled out in the short term, Liverpool suffered another problematic injury with Roberto Firmino ruled out in advance of the win over Norwich, leaving Jurgen Klopp light on attacking options.

Luis Diaz has hit the ground running since arriving so he is likely to continue up front, and there is likely to be a return for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson, both of whom were rested on Saturday, along with Thiago and Fabinho.

Leeds United team news

Robin Koch is the latest injury concern for Leeds after a head injury forced him off against Manchester United, but he has not yet been ruled out as his replacement was not deemed to be as a result of concussion.

Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper are edging nearer returns but this game may come too soon for them while Patrick Bamford's return remains unclear and all eyes will be on whether or not Raphinha is recalled to the starting XI.
