Leicester City vs Crystal Palace betting tips: Premier League preview, predictions and odds

Match preview

Just when Leicester City thought they’d turned a corner, the doom and gloom has swiftly returned.

12 days ago, the Foxes finally claimed their first victory of the season, smashing East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest 4-0.

Then, last weekend, they looked set to build on that, taking the lead at Dean Court thanks to Patson Daka.

But, Bournemouth fought back, scoring twice in five minutes, thereby claiming all three points.

This means, once again, Brendan Rodgers’ side kick off at the bottom of the table, still only three points from safety.

Crystal Palace meantime enjoyed a vital victory on Sunday, coming from behind to defeat Leeds United at Selhurst Park.

Odsonne Édouard’s header followed by Eberechi Eze’s cool finish seeing the Eagles to their first victory since mid-August.

This early kick off is tough to call, so will there be a winner at the King Power Stadium?

Leicester City team news

Brendan Rodgers is short of defensive options, with Ricardo Pereira, Ryan Bertand and Caglar Söyüncü all sidelined.

Wilfred Ndidi also missed the trip to Bournemouth with an injury, so Boubakary Soumaré is set to continue at the base of midfield.

James Maddison, who’s already scored five goals this season, would miss Thursday’s clash with Leeds if he is booked here.

Patson Daka’s goal at Bournemouth could see him continue up front, chosen over Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Ịheanachọ.

Crystal Palace team news

Joachim Andersen sat out the defeat to Chelsea injured, but returned at centre-back alongside Marc Guéhi last weekend.

Jordan Ayew hobbled off in that win over Leeds and, if he’s not fit, this could lead to a bit of a reshuffle.

Tyrick Mitchell would return at left-back, with Jeffrey Schlupp going into central-midfield and Michale Olise shifting over to the right-wing.

Odsonne Édouard is looking to score in three successive league games for the first time since February 2021, when he was at Celtic.

Wilfried Zaha has scored eight times against Leicester, the joint-most against a single opponent, five of which have come at the King Power.
