Betting prediction: Leeds 0-2 West Ham

David Moyes’ West Ham will be flying high after their midweek ousting of Manchester United from the Carabao Cup, coming into the weekend’s proceedings completely fresh after squad rotation for the cup clash. With a fully-fit squad available, the Hammers should be able to find three points against a struggling Leeds outfit that has yet to earn their first win of the season and are amidst a troubling selection headache for the Elland Road encounter.

Leeds vs West Ham: Recommended bets

First to Score: Michail Antonio (5/1 odds)

Expected to feature in David Moyes’ match day XI tomorrow, in-form striker Michail Antonio is fast becoming a forward of note in a late blooming career. His 4-goals in the league thus far sees him joint-top in the Premier League goalscoring charts, along with Mohamed Salah and Bruno Fernandes. Against a severely weakened Leeds backline, Antonio could certainly thrive.

To score anytime: Saïd Benrahma (9/4 odds)

Another player who has finally found his footing is former Brentford standout Saïd Benrahma, who has started this season like a house on fire to the tune of 3-goals and 2-assists in the opening five fixtures. It took the Algerian a while to settle after completing his move to a different part of London, but he now looks his old self, sitting in the top-ten in goals thus far. Much like Antonio, he could find joy against a struggling Leeds.

Leeds vs West Ham: Match preview

Leeds up against it with massive selection issue

This is hardly the start which Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa would have wished for as the Whites enter their sophomore season after what was an excellent return to the Premier League last term.

Without a single win to their name and one of the worst defensive records in the division, some may be able to take solace in the fact that three of their opening five league outings came against Manchester United, Everton, and Liverpool. Two of those clashes saw Leeds as the underdog, though they were likely disappointed by the Everton result against a side that Leeds will be hopeful of competing with in their quest to move up the table.

No Patrick Bamford at the weekend will be a massive blow as well, while Jack Harrison will also be out and there could be a race against time to recover Raphinha. This may be the Peacocks’ biggest test of the 2021-22 season thus far.

West Ham aim to push after midweek Man United result

It was revenge achieved for West Ham in their midweek Carabao Cup win against Manchester United at Old Trafford, finding the reverse end result after the Red Devils bested the Hammers 2-1 in their Premier League clash last weekend.

Though no bearing on the table can be seen, West Ham could well utilize the result as a means to boost morale after Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s men ended their four-match unbeaten start in the league. Overall form has been quite strong for Moyes’ men, however, who also began their return to European action with a win away at Dinamo Zagreb at a ground where bigger clubs have slipped to defeat.

The return of Michail Antonio will be the ultimate boost for Moyes’ men, and a fully-fit West Ham squad should move confidently into the weekend before they continue their continental efforts against Rapid Wien.

Leeds team news vs West Ham

Marcelo Bielsa has a tough task ahead of him as Leeds are set to face West Ham at Elland Road with a number of key players unavailable.

Patrick Bamford, Robin Koch, and Diego Llorente are all missing through injury, while Pascal Struijk is serving his suspension for a straight red card and Jack Harrison is not ready to return after recovering from Covid-19.

Right-sided duo Raphinha and Luke Ayling are both also major doubts, and if neither is available, Leeds could really be up against it.

West Ham team news vs Leeds

West Ham are fresh off a rotated side knocking out Manchester United in the midweek Carabao Cup clash, and the Hammers should be fully fit for their away day.

Key center-forward Michail Antonio was not given a run out against the Red Devils and should be ready to return to the match day XI at the weekend.

Ryan Fredericks is listed as a doubt, but was not expected to be amongst the starters as both Vladimír Coufal and Aaron Cresswell are fully fit.
