Under 2.5 goals. Newcastle’s away games tend to be low-scoring. Their last six league games on the road have all produced fewer than 3 goals.

Leeds vs Newcastle: Premier League match preview
Leeds host Newcastle at Elland Road on Tuesday night.
Leeds lost 2-1 at home to West Ham on Friday night. Patrick Bamford won an early penalty, which was taken by Mateusz Klich. His tame effort was comfortably saved but the Pole was given a second chance as VAR judged Fabianski to be off his line. Klich made no mistake with his second attempt. West Ham were back on level terms 20 minutes later and scored the winner in the final 10 minutes.
Leeds have lost back-to-back matches and have only won one of their last six. The defeat leaves Marcelo Bielsa’s men 14th in the table on 14 points. A win on Tuesday would only move them up a couple of places in the standings.
Leeds have won one of their six matches at Elland road this season, and none of their last five. Only three teams have conceded more goals at home than Leeds (11).
Newcastle are on the up
Newcastle beat West Brom 2-1 at home on Saturday. Miguel Almiron gave Newcastle a 1st-minute lead while Dwight Gayle came off the bench to score the winner on his first appearance of the season.
The result lifts Steve Bruce’s side up to 12th in the table on 17 points – 3 points above Leeds. A win on Tuesday would put them level on points with West Ham, Everton, and Manchester United.
Newcastle have won back-to-back league games for the first time since June. The Magpies haven’t won three in a row since November 2018.
Newcastle’s away form ranks 13th in the league, with two wins, two draws and just one defeat from their five matches on the road.
Leeds and Newcastle have faced each other 22 times in the Premier League. Newcastle have won exactly half of those, drawing six and losing the other five.
Newcastle beat Leeds 1-0 at St. James’ Park in their last Premier League meeting in January 2004. Alan Shearer scored early on for Newcastle, while James Milner was in Leeds’ starting eleven that day.
Since then the sides have met in the League Cup and in the Championship, although you have to go back to September 2002 for Leeds’ last win over Newcastle in any competition.
Leeds team news vs Newcastle
After naming his entire starting eleven in a pre-match press conference last week, Marcelo Bielsa kept his cards close to his chest this time around. “From now on to avoid any backlash I will not continue to give answers on the players who can or cannot play”, the Leeds boss said.
Bielsa did confirm, however, that Patrick Bamford had not picked up a knock on Friday.
Raphinha will compete with Helder Costa for a starting spot on Leeds’ right flank. Jason Shakleton and Tyler Roberts came off the bench against West Ham on Friday night and are potential options if Bielsa wants to rotate some players.
Diego Llorente is set to miss out again with a muscle problem, while Gaetano Berardi, Robin Koch, and Adam Forshaw are long-term absentees.
Newcastle team news vs Leeds
Steve Bruce is not expected to make too many changes to the side that beat West Brom on Saturday, although Javier Manquillo could replace Emil Krafth at right-back.
Federico Fernandez also comes back into contention after recovering from Covid-19 and returning to training. Jamaal Lascelles, however, is set to miss out again with a thigh injury.
Midfielder Isaac Hayden was played out of position against West Brom, partnering Ciaran Clark in central defence.
Dwight Gayle came off the bench to make his first appearance of the campaign on Saturday.
Ryan Fraser has missed Newcastle’s last four games with a hamstring injury and could return to the matchday squad, as could Allan Saint-Maximin.
Wednesday’s game is likely to come too soon for Martin Dubravka, so Karl Darlow is expected to continue in goal. Dubravka has a chance of featuring before the new year.
Paul Dummett also remains sidelined.
