Fulham vs Crystal Palace betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Fulham vs Crystal Palace prediction: Fulham 1-1 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace scored 22 goals in pre-season, although looking at their opposition that’s hardly surprising.

Fulham have made a number of exciting additions to their squad over the summer, although it may take some time for things to click into place.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace: Who will win?

Fulham are 6/4 favourites to win on their return to the Premeir League, while Crystal Palace are 2/1 outsiders to win the match. The draw can be backed at 12/5.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is 5/1 to score the opening goal of the game, while Palace duo Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha are both 2/1 to score anytime in the match.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace Premier League match preview

Following a four-year absence, Fulham return to the Premier League on Saturday, hosting Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage.

Fulham return following their 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the Championship Play-off Final in May. Fulham finished 3rd in the table with the 2nd-best attacking record.

Crystal Palace will do well to better last season’s respectable 11th-placed finish.

Roy Hodgson will be hoping his side get some points on the board before next Monday’s visit of Liverpool.

Fulham face away trips to Spurs and champions Manchester City in their opening five matches.

Fresh Faces for Fulham & Crystal Palace

Fulham have signed Aleksandar Mitrovic from Newcastle, Alfie Mawson from Swansea and Jean Michael Seri from Nice for a combined fee of £55m. The Cottagers have also brought in Andre Schurrle and Calum Chambers on loan.

The Cottagers were also very active on transfer deadline day, bringing in no less than five players.

Despite all the signings, Fulham’s best bit of business was keeping teenage sensation Ryan Sessegnon.

The 18-year-old scored 15 league goals last season and has attracted heavy interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur.

Palace have brought in West Ham’s Cheikhou Kouyate for £9.5m to strengthen their midfield. The Eagles also managed to beat a host of clubs to the signature of Max Meyer who joins from Schalke on a free.

Pre-season for Fulham & Crystal Palace

Fulham won just two of their eight pre-season friendlies, although they did face high quality opposition, including Fiorentina, Lyon, Fenerbahce, Sampdoria and Athletic Bilbao.

Those matches were probably of a lot more use to Fulham than Palace’s wins over Boreham Wood, Stevenage, Oxford United and Halmstads.

It’s worth noting that Palace kept just two clean sheets in their seven matches.

Fulham team news vs Crystal Palace

As he has done for most of pre-season, wonderkid Sessegnon might be forced to start on the left of a four-man defence. New signing Maxime Le Marchand provides an alternate at left-back, which would see Sessegnon move further up the pitch.

Aboubakar Kamara and Andre Schurrle are set to flank lone-striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

New signing Mawson will miss out with a knee injury. Slavisa Jokanovic confirmed that the defender will have to wait another three weeks before resuming full training.

Denis Odoi serves a one-match suspension carried over from Fulham’s Championship Play-off Final win.

Summer signing Fabri is set to start in goal.

Crystal Palace team news vs Fulham

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will battle it out with Joel Ward for the right-back berth.

Scott Dann remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury picked up last season.

Former Valencia and Getafe shotstopper Guaita is expected to start in goal.
