Everton vs West Ham: Match details
Match: Everton vs West Ham
Competition: Premier League
Date: January 1, 2021
Kick-off time: 5:30 pm, January 1, 2021 (UK time)
Stadium: Goodison Park
Betting prediction: Everton 1-0 West Ham
Everton have won six out of six against London clubs this season, including a 4-1 win over West Ham in the Carabao Cup. Everton are seeking a fifth consecutive Premier League win for the first time since April 2014.
A similar scoreline on New Year’s Day seems unlikely. The Hammers have picked up points in four of their last five matches.
Because their match against Manchester City was postponed, Everton’s players have had an extra three days to recover, which will certainly count in their favour.
Everton vs West Ham: Recommended bets
Under 2.5 goals. Six of Everton’s last seven matches have featured fewer than three goals.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score. Calvert-Lewin has gone five matches without a goal for Everton but he’ll be confident of ending that run on Friday. The striker has four goals in five appearances against West Ham.

Everton vs West Ham: Premier League preview
The first Premier League match of 2021 sees Everton welcome West Ham to Goodison Park on New Year’s Day.
Everton were meant to play Manchester City at Goodison on Monday but the game was called off due to a Covid-19 outbreak in the Manchester City squad. While the Toffees were clearly disappointed with the decision to postpone the game, it does mean that their players will be a lot more fresh than West Ham’s.
Everton last played on Boxing Day. Gylfi Sigurdsson scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win at Sheffield United.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side finished 2020 4th in the table on 29 points, although they now have a game in hand over two of the three teams above them.
West Ham drew 0-0 with Southampton on Tuesday, their third draw in four matches. David Moyes’ side are 10th in the table, although they’re only three points off 5th.
Everton are solid at home
Everton’s home form ranks 4th in the league, with four wins, one draw, and two defeats from seven matches at Goodison. West Ham have picked up 11 points from their eight matches on the road.
Everton beat West Ham 4-1 at Goodison when the sides met in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup in September. Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored a hat-trick while Richarlison was also on the scoresheet. Robert Snodgrass netted for West Ham. Everton are unbeaten in their last four matches against the Hammers since the start of 2019.
These two sides have faced each other 48 times in the Premier League. Everton have won 26 of those matches, drawing 13 and losing four. Their most recent Premier League meeting, played in January 2020, ended in a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium. Issa Diop and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the goals.

Everton team news vs West Ham
Richarlison is “okay” and should be recalled to the starting eleven. He missed the game at Sheffield United due to the Premier League’s concussion protocols. Anthony Gordon is set to make way for the Brazilian.
Lucas Digne is still out with an ankle injury but Carlo Ancelotti gave a positive update on the left-back: “We have good news on Lucas Digne. He is starting individual sessions, and in one week–ten days, he will be able to train with the team”. Ben Godfrey has deputised at left-back in recent weeks and should keep his place in the side.
Summer signing Allan remains unavailable with a hamstring injury. The defensive midfielder is expected back “around the end of January”. Tom Davies is expected to continue alongside Abdoulaye Doucoure in central midfield, although Andre Gomes is another option for Ancelotti to consider.
Jonjoe Kenny and Seamus Coleman are potential replacements for Mason Holgate at right-back.
New Year’s Day will come too soon for James Rodriguez, although the Colombian should be available for Everton’s following Premier League game against Wolves.
Fabian Delph and Jean Philippe Gbamin are long-term absentees.

West Ham team news vs Everton
David Moyes made five changes to his starting eleven against Southampton. Jarrod Bowen and Vladimir Coufal dropped to the bench but should be recalled for Friday’s game.
Fabian Balbuena was rested entirely on Tuesday but will start alongside Angelo Ogbonna against Everton.
Michail Antonio is fit again following a hamstring injury but will probably start the game from the bench. Said Benrahma will also be pushing for a start.
Arthur Masuaku has a knee injury and is West Ham’s only absentee for the game.
