Everton and Leicester City will meet at Goodison Park now that the Toffees are out of the relegation zone as the two meet in what could end up being one of their biggest games of the season in the long run.
The Foxes temporarily moved out of the bottom three the other week thanks to a stunning 4-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, after a loss at home to Manchester City last weekend by a narrow 1-0 scoreline, they are back in 18th and trail 17th-placed Southampton by one point after they drew with Arsenal.
Leicester have still had a fairly decent month, given how things had previously gone, as they beat Nottingham Forest 4-0 in October, while also beating Leeds United 2-0 and drawing with Crystal Palace 0-0. They did, however, lose to Bournemouth in this run too.
As for Everton, they have put together two unbeaten games after previously registering three defeats on the spin after Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Manchester United all beat them. The Toffees returned to the win column with a convincing 3-0 win over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park. Frank Lampard’s men did draw 0-0 with Fulham last time out, but given their excellent start to the 2022/23 season, it isn’t the worst point to take.
With Leicester still in the drop zone and Everton up into 12th, this game could have huge implications on the Premier League table before the World Cup break. Brendan Rodgers could see his side move into as high as 12th and above Everton if his men win here and overturn the goals difference tally.
