Ben Chilwell, Christian Pulisic, and Thiago Silva are fitness doubts, while new signing Hakim Ziyech remains out with a knee injury sustained in a recent friendly against Brighton.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek started last weekend but could be dropped.
The signing of Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has not yet been completed, so Kepa Arrizabalaga should continue in goal.
Billy Gilmour is a long-term absentee.
Liverpool team news vs Chelsea

Jurgen Klopp is expected to make just one change, with Fabinho likely to come in for Naby Keita.
Konstantinos Tsimikas is unlikely to feature. The Greek fullback has recently been in quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is ruled out with a knee injury, while Xherdan Shaqiri has a muscle injury.
Mohamed Salah is set to face his former club.
