Chelsea vs Crystal Palace betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have won two of their last three matches at the Bridge, but the two sides’ respective form makes another Palace win highly unlikely.

Maurizio Sarri has the opportunity to match former Nottingham Forest manager Frank Clark’s 1994 record of going undefeated in his first 11 Premier League matches.

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace: Who will win?

Chelsea are 1/4 favourites on Saturday while Crystal Palace are 12/1 outsiders. The draw can be backed at 23/4.

Palace have failed to score in three of their last four matches. Chelsea to win and keep a clean sheet is priced at 1/1.

With Eden Hazard doubtful, Alvaro Morata could be Chelsea’s biggest goalscoring threat. The Spaniard is 4/1 to open the scoring and 1/1 to net anytime.

Chelsea are one of three teams yet to lose in the Premier League this season. Sarri’s side are third in the table, two points behind Manchester City and Liverpool ahead of the weekend’s matches.

Last weekend the Blues won 4-0 away at Turf Moor. Alvaro Morata, Ross Barkley, Willian and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all scored in a convincing win. Barkley has now scored three goals in his last four appearances while Loftus-Cheek has four in three.

Both sides were in midweek Carabao Cup action. Chelsea progressed to the last eight of the competition after a narrow 3-2 win over Frank Lampard’s Derby County side. All five goals were scored in the first period with Cesc Fabregas grabbing the eventual winner.

The win extends Chelsea’s unbeaten run in all competitions to 15 matches.

London derby

Palace were knocked out of the Carabao Cup after losing 1-0 to Championship side Middlesbrough on Wednesday, extending their winless streak to five matches.

Last weekend, Roy Hodgson’s side earned a valuable point at home to Arsenal. Both Palace goals came from Luka Milivojevic penalties. It could’ve been more than a point for the Eagles, who more than matched the Gunners on the day.

The result leaves Palace 14th in the table on 8 points. It’s worth noting that Palace face another top London side in Spurs in their next game, and Manchester United after that.

Palace have been much better on the road this season. They have scored three more goals and earned four more points than they have at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea won last season’s corresponding fixture 2-1 in March. The Blues’ goals came through Willian and a Martin Kelly own goal before Patrick van Aanholt pulled one back for Palace late on.

Palace have won four and drawn two of their 18 Premier League encounters against Chelsea.
