Brighton vs Manchester United betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Brighton vs Manchester United 101 Great Goals prediction: Brighton 1-3 Manchester United

Manchester United head to the south coast to take on Brighton and Hove Albion with boosted morale around the camp following their opening day victory.

Jose Mourinho’s side recorded a 2-1 win over Leicester City on Friday to help lift the mood around the club following an underwhelming summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, for opponents Brighton, the feel-good factor will somewhat be lacking as the Seagulls were convincingly beaten 2-0 by Watford in a concerning display.

Brighton vs Manchester United match preview

Brighton and Hove Albion began their Premier League campaign with an opening day defeat away at Vicarage Road as Roberto Pereyra struck twice for Watford.

The defeat will be a cause for concern for manager Chris Hughton as his side failed to register even a single shot on target and were well beaten by a team tipped for relegation.

The Seagulls face a tricky spell of fixtures in the coming weeks as they take on Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City following the visit of the Red Devils this weekend.

Despite a squad limited due to injuries, late returners from the World Cup and an underwhelming transfer window, Mourinho’s men managed to see off Leicester on the opening night of the new Premier League season.

Goals from Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw were enough to see off a strong challenge from the Foxes and claim United a vital three points to boost the morale at Old Trafford.

Paul Pogba’s performance on Friday evening caught the eye of many as he returned to club action for the first time as a world champion.

The 25-year-old will be desperate to stamp his authority on the 2018/2019 campaign and produce the electric form which earned him a huge return move to Manchester.

Jose Izquierdo, Florin Andone and Bruno Saltor are all doubts for Chris Hughton’s side.

Jesse Lingard is excepted to return for Sunday’s clash after missing the Red Devils’ win over Leicester City.

However, Sergio Romero, Diago Dalot, Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia remain sidelined through injury.

The big surprise on Saturday night is that Alexis Sanchez has not travelled with Manchester United to face Brighton.

There is, of course, a chance Alexis will play but it now seems unlikely.
