Result/Both Teams to Score: Southampton/Yes (9/2 odds) - Though Southampton has been pretty poor away from home this season, their recent run of form since Christmas is some of the best runs of results seen across the Premier League. Additionally, they dominate the recent head-to-head fixtures against Aston Villa (5-0-1) so they could squeak out a win here.
Correct Score: Aston Villa 1-2 Southampton (11/1 odds) - The last two meetings between these sides finished with a single goal difference in a pair of 1-0 results split between the two. That trend could continue here, but such is some of the quality on offer for both teams there could be a few more goals overall, but a close result still seems probable.
Plater to be Booked: Oriol Romeu (2/1 odds) - Though not a massive return, it seems a pretty safe bet if you're simply looking to double your investment. Having been shown 6-yellow cards this season in the Premier League, Oriol Romeu always has the potential to find his way into the official's trusty card book.

A strong performance from Aston Villa last time out got them back to winning ways in a 2-0 away win against Brighton after Steven Gerrard's Villains went on a three-match run without a three-point haul (0-1-2) which included being blanked by both Newcastle United as well as Watford. But the performance against the Seagulls showed not just an improved result, but an improvement on the pitch from a tactical standpoint that could be a credible springboard for the Birmingham outfit that they could potentially craft into a late run which could find them in the top half of the table come to the end of the season.
In stark contrast, Southampton has been one of the better sides in the Premier League since Christmas while having lost just once in that period, posting a 5-3-1 record in the process. While on their current five-match undefeated run, they have managed to grab a point off both Manchester City and Manchester United, while also dispatching Tottenham in a dramatic 3-2 late win in the capital. The motivation of an outside chance at European football could loom large here for Saints who look to have really turned a corner this season under their popular Austrian manager.
Aston Villa team news
Steven Gerrard could well name an unchanged XI for Aston Villa as they host Ralph Hasenhüttl's Southampton at Villa Park tomorrow.
The only absentees in the squad come by way of Marvelous Nakamba, and Carney Chukwuemeka (both via injury), but Bertrand Traoré is not far away from a return but is not expected to be available here. It is also expected that Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins will be deployed in a two-striker set-up, which could mean that both Leon Bailey and Emi Buendía may have to be called upon as bench options once more
Southampton team news
Southampton has found their voice as the 2021-22 Premier League season charges on into March and looks to keep that streak alive on the road tomorrow.
Thankfully for Ralph Hasenhüttl, there are no fresh injury concerns to contend with. Mohammed Salisu is expected to make a return into the heart of the defense, and though Lyanco, Nathan Tella, and Alex McCarthy are all unavailable, the amount of key players that were rested in midweek against West Ham means that the strongest possible Saints XI should be on display here.
