Arsenal vs Wolves: Match details
Match: Arsenal vs Wolves
Competition: Premier League
Date: November 29, 2020
Kick-off time: 7:15 pm, November 29, 2020 (UK time)
Stadium: Emirates Stadium
Betting prediction: Arsenal 1-1 Wolves
Arsenal and Wolves have made fairly similar starts to the season, with just 1 point separating them after 9 matches played.
The Gunners have won just one of their last five in the league and Mikel Arteta will view this as a game his side need to be winning.
The last 2 matches at the Emirates between these two sides have ended in draws. Have gone 12 matches without a draw in the Premier League, it now seems likely that the Gunners could draw back-to-back matches following last weekend’s stalemate against Leeds.

Under 2.5 goals. Each of Wolves’ last six matches has featured fewer than 3 goals.
Both teams to score. Arsenal have conceded in each of their last seven Premier League games at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal vs Wolves: Match preview
Arsenal host Wolves at the Emirates on Sunday evening.
Arsenal won 3-0 in Molde on Thursday night to seal their qualification to the knockout stage of the Europa League. Second-half goals from Nicolas Pepe, Reiss Nelson and Folarin Balogun gave Arsenal a comfortable victory. 11 players from Arsenal’s matchday squad on Thursday night were graduates of their academy.
While things are looking rosy in the Europa League, Arsenal have struggled recently in the league. Last weekend they were held to a 0-0 draw at Leeds, and were somewhat fortunate not to lose the match. That said, they did defend pretty well considering they played much of the game with 10 men.
Prior to that, Arsenal lost 3-0 at home to Aston Villa. Mikel Arteta’s side have lost back-to-back league matches at the Emirates for the first time since December 2019.
Recent results mean Arsenal begin the weekend 12th in the table with 13 points. Wolves are one point but three places above the Gunners.
Wolves were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Southampton on Monday night. Former Arsenal man Theo Walcott opened the scoring for the Saints before Pedro Neto equalised for the home side.
Arsenal’s home record this season is identical to Wolves’ away record: Two wins and two defeats from four matches, with a goal difference of -2.
Arsenal have a pretty decent record against Wolves in the Premier League, losing just one of their 12 previous meetings – although they’ve only won one of the four matches against Wolves since their promotion in 2018.
Arsenal won 2-0 away from home in the sides’ most recent meeting at Molineaux in July. Bukayo Saka and Alex Lacazette scored either side of half time to give Arsenal an impressive away win.
Arsenal team news vs Wolves
Arsenal could be without David Luiz, who was subbed off at halftime as a precaution in midweek. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gabriel Magalhaes were given the night off on Thursday and will be recalled to the side.
Nicolas Pepe – who was Arsenal’s man of the match on Thursday night – will serve the first of a three-match domestic ban following his sending off against Leeds last weekend.
Pepe’s absence could afford Reiss Nelson a rare start on Arsenal’s right wing. Nelson has only made one Premier League appearance so far this season.
Thomas Partey remains a major doubt with a thigh strain, while there are still question marks over Mohamed Elneny and Sead Kolasinac’s availability after the pair tested positive for Covid-19 earlier in the month.
It’s likely that Dani Ceballos will partner Granit Xhaka in the base of midfield, with Joe Willock possibly starting again in a more advanced midfield role.
Willian is hoping to overcome a calf issue that saw him miss out in midweek. Bukayo Saka is another doubt after picking up a knee injury in last weekend’s draw.
After weeks of Arsenal fans crying out for Mikel Arteta to start Aubameyang in a central striking role, it was all a bit anti-climatic as he was largely ineffective against Leeds.
Speaking to Arsenal’s official website on Friday, Aubameyang said, “I play everywhere, I don’t mind really. Everyone knows where I prefer to play but this doesn’t matter because I prefer to have many options than just one. I want to help and I want to learn.”
Alex Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both failed to impress on Thursday night, so Aubameyang may very well lead the line again against Wolves. Folarin Balogun, who came off the bench to score on Thursday night, will be hoping to be part of the matchday squad, as will Emile Smith Rowe.
Calum Chambers, Pablo Mari, and William Saliba all started Arsenal U23’s PL2 games against Derby on Friday night and won’t be involved against Wolves.
Gabriel Martinelli remain unavailable, while Mesut Ozil, Sokratis Papastathopoulos are not in Arsenal’s Premier League squad.
Wolves team news vs Arsenal
Nuno Espirito Santo fielded a back four last weekend but could revert to a back three with two wingbacks for the trip to Arsenal.
Adama Traore started last weekend’s match against Southampton and could drop to the bench for Pedro Neto.
Conor Coady is available for selection after completing his period of self-isolation. Romain Saiss, however, is set to miss out again as he needs to submit a negative swab before he can rejoin the group, so Max Kilman is set to continue in a back three.
Jonny Otto is a long-term absentee with a knee injury.
