Betting prediction: Arsenal 1 – Manchester City 3
The Gunners welcome Manchester City to the Emirates Stadium in London on Sunday for this Premier League match.
Recently, matches between these two have been dominated by Manchester City. The Citizens have won 9 of the last 10 matches in this head-to-head, in all competitions.
In the Premier League, Arsenal haven’t beaten Manchester City since Pep Guardiola took charge at the Etihad. City’s 1-0 win back in October made it 10 straight games without a win for Arsenal, suffering defeat in each of the last 7.

Arsenal vs Manchester City: Recommended bets
Arsenal’s last victory over Manchester City came in the FA Cup Semi-Finals in July en-route to the Gunners lifting the trophy for a record 14th time. A repeat of their 2-0 score on Sunday is available at odds of 33/1.
Manchester City won 1-4 on their last visit to Emirates Stadium back in December for the Carabao Cup Quarter-Finals. You can back them at 25/1 for the same scoreline here on Sunday.
Arsenal last avoided league defeat in this fixture with a 2-2 draw here back in 2017. The last 3 times the sides have shared the points in this match, it has finished 2-2. Odds of 18/1 are available for these sides to share the points in a 4-goal thriller.
Lately, Arsenal vs Manchester City has been a high scoring game with 12 of the last 15 matches seeing over 2.5 goals scored, in all competitions. You can back another high scoring game here on Sunday with odds of 8/11 on for over 2.5 goals.
Sergio Agüero’s 11 goals in this fixture are more than twice as many as any other player for either side. He has managed only 4 minutes of football so far in 2021 due to injuries and fitness and is yet to score for City in the Premier League this season as a result. Despite this, the Argentina international is the favourite at 7/2 to score the game’s opener on Sunday. Or evens to bag a goal at any time during the game against Arsenal.

Arsenal vs Manchester City: What are the betting odds?
The Gunners haven’t won a league match against City since Arsene Wenger retired. It is therefore no surprise that they start the match as 11/2 underdogs despite being at home.
Manchester City have won on each of their last 5 visits to the Emirates Stadium, in all competitions. They start the match at 1/2 on to make it six in a row on Sunday.
The Gunners have drawn 3 of their last 6 home matches in the Premier League. Odds of 10/3 are available if you see Arsenal and Manchester City cancelling each other out on Sunday.

Arsenal vs Manchester City: Match preview
It is said that the most important ability in elite sports is availability.
The two players who have dominated this era of football – Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo – were able to do so largely down to their almost spotless injury records. Being able to play 5000+ minutes a season, every season, for more than 15 years helped them rack up numbers that few will ever match. However, you can only do so if you are fit and able to play.
While both Arsenal and City have had some problems with injuries this season, both these sides have been fortunate in coming through the hectic December and January Premier League schedules without any major injuries and almost a clean bill of health.
This should put them in a good shape for chasing their targets down over the final few months of the season. For Arsenal, that means continuing their rapid ascent back up the table with the hopes of finishing in the top 6 to secure European football again next season. They will also be hoping to go far in the Europa League, with their tie against Benfica still finely balanced.
Manchester City, on the other hand, have a commanding lead at the top of the Premier League as they look to claim their 3rd title in 4 seasons. They have a Carabao Cup Final coming up as well as an FA Cup Quarter Final. Their main focus though will be the one that has alluded them so far; the UEFA Champions League.
Bundesliga side Gladbach are all that stands between City and a place in the Quarter-Finals; the round which Pep Guardiola has so far struggled to negotiate at City having been eliminated there in each of the last 3 seasons.
MANCHESTER, ENGLAND – OCTOBER 17: Mikel Arteta, Manager of Arsenal talks to Thomas Partey of Arsenal before making his debut during the Premier League match between Manchester City and Arsenal at Etihad Stadium on October 17, 2020 in Manchester, England. Arsenal team news vs Manchester City
Thomas Partey is the only injury doubt for Arsenal before this match. He missed last weekend’s 4-2 win over Leeds as well as the trip to Benfica on Thursday with a hamstring injury. Even if fit, it is unlikely he will be risked to finally put the disruptive pattern of injuries behind him.
Kieran Tierney has missed Arsenal’s last 5 league matches with a knee injury. However, after making a 26-minute cameo at Benfica on Thursday, he could be in line to start on Sunday. One of Bellerín or Soares would be dropped for the Scot.
After starting 13 straight league matches, Rob Holding was dropped for the match against Leeds and was on the bench again in Portugal. He could get a recall to the starting XI here in place of Gabriel or David Luiz.
Martin Ødegaard started last weekend for the first time since joining the club on loan from Real Madrid. He failed to impress though, which is understandable given he has only just arrived at the club. Against such difficult opponents as City, he may be dropped for Mohamed Elneny to give the midfield a more defensive look.

Manchester City team news vs Arsenal
Philippe Sandler remains ruled out for City having had knee surgery before a ball was kicked this season. He likely won’t feature for the club in 2020/21.
Nathan Ake is also out with a hamstring injury. He has only managed 6 league appearances for City in an injury-disrupted first season at the club.
Kevin De Bruyne made his return from injury in midweek with a 10-minute cameo against Everton. He could be in line to make his first start for the club since the 2-0 win over Villa on January 20th.
Manchester City have had a different pairing in central defence in each of their last 3 league matches. Rúben Dias seems the undisputed first-choice at the club at the moment but will Aymeric Laporte or John Stones partner him at the back?
Ilkay Gundogan missed the trip to Goodison Park in midweek with a minor groin problem. He is expected to be restored to the starting XI here, likely in place of Kyle Walker with João Cancelo returning to his preferred right-back position.
