Premier League relegation race: Latest odds and tips 2021/22

The race is on for survival in the Premier League, with teams desperate to avoid the ignominy of relegation to the Championship next season.

Following promotion under Daniel Farke, Norwich have been favourites all season long to drop back down to the second tier and continue their recent history of yo-yo-ing between the two divisions, while several Premier League regulars have joined them this year.

Survival is worth upwards of £100 million per year, and here 101 Great Goals looks at relegation odds for 2021/22 from the Premier League and which teams are favourites to go down.

Relegation favourites

Norwich look destined to face the drop at 1/150 with the Canaries having lost six of their last eight matches. Dean Smith’s side are also seven points adrift at the bottom. Despite winning 2-0 against Burnley, they remain in 20th place with other teams around them also picking up points.

Watford suffered another setback in their bid for survival as they thrashed at home by Leeds United. Roy Hodgson’s side lost 3-0 against the visitors to make it four defeats from their last five matches. The Hornets are now six points away from safety and face an incredibly tricky task to stay up and are 1/25 to go down.

The bottom three is once again starting to really take shape and Burnley look to be a key part of it. Sean Dyche’s side are now 4/11 to end their Premier League stay. The Clarets have now lost five of their last six matches as they were unable to follow up on their win over Everton. The Lancashire club are 18th and four points away from safety.

Relegation outsiders

Jesse Marsch has had an incredible impact at Leeds United who are now well on course to remain in the top flight. The South Yorkshire club have now won three of their last four matches to move 9 points clear of the bottom three. Leeds still remain in the fight for survival but their odds to go down are starting to get longer at 8/1.

Frank Lampard’s Everton produced an empathic response to their defeat at Burnley as they beat Manchester United at Goodison Park. The Toffees won 1-0 with Anthony Gordon scoring the only goal of the game. They are now four points above the bottom three and are 5/2 to go down.

Brentford’s stunning revival continued over the weekend as they defeated West Ham United. The Bees won the London derby 2-0 to make it four wins from their last five matches. The week before they also produced one of their biggest results ever as they defeated west London rivals Chelsea 4-1 at Stamford Bridge. They now look set to remain in the Premier League and are 66/1 to do down. Thomas Frank’s side are 14th and 12 points above the bottom three.

Newcastle United responded to three straight defeats with a win over Wolves. The Toon Army won 1-0 at St James’ Park and should now be safe, with 10 points separating them from the bottom three. Eddie Howe’s side odds to face the drop are now at 50/1 following their win over Wolves.
