Zinedine Zidane’s stance on Man United job confirmed as yet another name enters the fray

Zinedine Zidane has provided a definitive answer to Manchester United regarding the possibility of becoming the club’s new manager, according to reports.

Ole out

The subject of the hotseat at Old Trafford has of course taken its place front and centre in the media over the course of the day thus far.

This comes after those in a position of power on the red half of Manchester finally came to the long overdue decision to part ways with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

On the back of an embarrassing 4-1 drubbing at the hands of Watford on Saturday, it was decided that the Norwegian no longer represented the right man to lead United forward into a new era.

The hours since Solskjaer’s dismissal was made official, in turn, have inevitably been packed with speculation surrounding just who is set to be chosen as the man to take up the reins at the Theatre of Dreams.

The likes of Zinedine Zidane, Erik ten Hag and Brendan Rodgers have all been tipped as frontrunners for the role, as the Red Devils faithful patiently await confirmation of their side’s latest manager.

Zizou says no

And, as alluded to above, on Sunday evening, a fresh insight into the stance of one of the leading contenders has been forthcoming online.

The news, however, is far from positive.

As per a report from Spanish outlet El Partidazo de COPE, Zinedine Zidane has informed the board at Old Trafford that he has no interest in taking over at the club for the time being.

The language barrier and hesitance of his wife to relocate to Manchester are cited as the key reasons behind the decision.

Interestingly, though, it is also suggested that Zidane would be interested in a future position on the bench at another of European football’s heavyweights, in the form of Paris Saint-Germain.

In turn, the idea is floated by Cope that Mauricio Pochettino could be sent on his way by the Parc des Princes hierarchy to make way for Zidane before the season is out, opening the door to the former Tottenham boss to finally secure a spot in the dugout at United:
