‘Yacine Brahimi set to join Arsenal for free’

That’s according to Portuguese daily A Bola, who rely on a report from Algerian paper La Gazette Du Fennec.

A Bola have confidently predicted that 29-year-old Algerian winger Yacine Brahimi will join Arsenal for free this summer.

Brahimi is now a free agent after his contract at FC Porto expired on June 30th, 2019.

Brahimi has been at Porto since 2014, when he joined the Dragons from Granada.

Last season, Brahimi scored 13 goals and chipped in with 9 assists in 49 matches in all competitions.

Arsenal & the race to sign Brahimi

Arsenal face competition to sign free agent Brahimi.

Three of the biggest clubs in Turkey – Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas – are all named as possible rival suitors for the Algerian.

Moreover, Everton and West Ham were also named as having an interest in Brahimi.

Nevertheless, the narrative in the press is that Arsenal will end up signing the winger.

Does this mean Arsenal’s hopes of signing Wilfried Zaha are over?

Crystal Palace fans may welcome the links between Brahimi and Arsenal.

That’s after the UK press have been suggesting that Wilfried Zaha could leave the Eagles to join the Gunners.

Arsenal, however, may have been priced out of signing Zaha, as Palace have reportedly hung a 100 million pound price tag around his neck.

Arsenal have been linked to a raft of attacking wide players this summer.

Some of the other names have included Ryan Fraser and Yannick Carrasco.
