Wolves vs Norwich prediction: Wolves 3-0 Norwich

Norwich put up a spirited display against the Premier League leaders last weekend which may give them some confidence heading into this one.

While positive performances will be welcomed, the Canaries are in desperate need of three points.

Wolves can turn their attention back to the Premier League after all but securing a spot in the Europa League round of 16.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are only six points adrift of the top four and their tough run of fixtures is largely over.

Wolves vs Norwich: Who will win?

Norwich have only won one of their last 13 Premier League matches. Wolves are 1/2 favourites to win the match while a Norwich win is priced at 6/1. The draw can be backed at 16/5.

Wolves have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three matches in all competitions. Bet on a Wolves clean sheet at 11/10.

Raul Jimenez has scored 20 goals in 40 appearances for Wolves this season and will be looking to avoid a fourth consecutive match without scoring. Jimenez is 10/3 to open the scoring and 20/21 to score anytime.

Wolves vs Norwich Premier League match preview

Wolves host bottom side Norwich City at Molineux on Sunday.

Wolves’ home form this season ranks 13th in the league, with just four wins from 13 matches at Molineux. Norwich, unsurprisingly, have the worst away record. They have managed to score just six times in 13 matches on the road.

Wolves returned to winning ways on Thursday night with an emphatic 4-0 win at home to Espanyol in the Europa League round of 32. Diogo Jota netted a hat-trick but the highlight of the night was Ruben Neves’ typically outrageous volleyed effort. The second leg takes place next Thursday.

Wolves have failed to win their last three in the Premier League. In fairness to them, those fixtures have been against Liverpool, Manchester United and Leicester.

Things are looking bleak for Norwich, who suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Liverpool last weekend. Daniel Farke’s side sat deep for much of the 90 and came close to picking up a famous point. A win for Norwich wouldn’t be enough to lift them from the bottom of the table.

Sunday’s clash is only the fourth Premier League meeting between the two sides. Each have won once and drawn the other match. Wolves were 2-1 winners in the reverse fixture at Carrow Road in December. Todd Cantwell opened the scoring before second-half goals from Romain Saiss and Raul Jimenez.

Recent history strongly favours Wolves in this one. Norwich have only won one of their last 13 matches at Molineux in all competitions.

Wolves team news vs Norwich

Sunday is likely to come too soon for Ruben Vinagre who is nearing a return from a hamstring injury.

Nuno Espirito Santo made two changes in midweek with Adama Traore and Joao Moutinho replacing Pedro Neto and Leander Dendoncker in the starting eleven.

Dendoncker and Neto will be pushing for recalls on Sunday but the rest of the Wolves lineup is expected to remain largely unchanged.

Wolves’ backup goalkeeper John Ruddy made 235 league appearances for the Canaries until his move to Molineux in 2017.

Norwich team news vs Wolves

Onel Hernandez is a doubt after picking up a knee injury in training.

Jamal Lewis could come in at left-back after Sam Byram suffered a hamstring injury against Liverpool.

Emiliano Buendia should start out wide in place of Lukas Rupp.

Christoph Zimmermann also picked up a hamstring injury against the Reds and is expected to be replaced by Ben Godfrey. Timm Klose also remains sidelined.
