Wolves vs Chelsea prediction: Wolves 0-2 Chelsea
Just a matter of weeks ago, this would have looked like a very tough game for Chelsea.
However, Wolves are in terrible form and have slid down the table in recent weeks.
Can Chelsea leave Molineux with a victory and keep pace with the leaders?
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Chelsea: Who will win?
Wolves are 18/5 to claim victory for the first time since 6 October.
Chelsea are big favourites at 3/4 to leave the Midlands with all three points.
A draw, which Nuno Espírito Santo would be delighted with, is 11/4.
Over 2.5 goals is 5/6, as is under 2.5 goals.
Chelsea to win and keep a clean sheet is 2/1.
Raúl Jiménez is Wolves’ top scorer despite only netting three times so far this season. Nevertheless, he’s 15/2 to score first and 5/2 to score anytime.
Only four players have more Premier League gals than Eden Hazard. He’s 4/1 to score first and 11/8 to score anytime.
Both Hazard and Olivier Giroud to score is 9/2.
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Chelsea: Match preview
The wheels have come off at Wolverhampton.
Nuno Espírito Santo’s side had 15 points on the board after just 8 matches; form which built up the hype even more.
However, they’ve been terrible since.
It’s 5 defeats from their last 6, the only point they’ve picked up came in the 1-1 draw at Arsenal.
Weirdly, they were excellent in that game and deserved more.
They were far from excellent on Friday night.
It looked as though the winless run would end when Matt Doherty gave them an early lead at the Cardiff City Stadium.
However, two second half goals from the hosts ensured that, once again, Wolves left with nothing.
This would be some game to end that run in and they’ll have to play better than they have been if they’re to do just that.
Chelsea meanwhile got back to winning ways on Sunday.
After their first defeat under Maurizio Sarri at Wembley, they could not afford another slip up against neighbours Fulham.
Goals from Pedro and Ruben Loftus-Cheek secured a comfortable 2-0 victory.
That leaves Chelsea on 31 points which is a decent return but they are now 7 points behind league leaders Manchester City.
They host Man City on Saturday so Sarri might just have on eye on that huge fixture.
Nevertheless, they can’t afford to slip up here and with the quality they have they’re unlikely to do so.
Wolverhampton Wanderers team news vs Chelsea
Despite their poor form, Nuno Espírito Santo firmly believes in his philosophy and his formation and is not going to change.
Rui Patrício has kept 4 Premier League clean sheets, only five goalkeepers have more, but his last was on 6 October.
For the first time this season, there was a change to Wolves’ back three.
On Friday night, Ryan Bennett was left out for Romain Saïss and the Moroccan is likely to keep his place.
With Jonny still out, Rúben Vinagre will continue at left-wing back.
In midfield, Rúben Neves is suspended having amassed 5 Premier League booking.
The highly talented Morgan Gibbs-White will come in for his first Premier League start next to the highly experienced João Moutinho.
Up front, it’s likely to be Hélder Costa and Adama Traoré in the inside-forward positions.
Scoring goals has been a problem recently so does this team have enough firepower to cause Chelsea problems?
Chelsea team news vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
As for the visitors, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga kept his 11th clean sheet in just 2- Chelsea appearances on Sunday; that’s an amazing record.
The same back 4 of César Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Antonio Rüdiger and Marcos Alonso has started every single Premier League match this season.
Alonso is something of a doubt according to Sarri, Emerson would replace the Spaniard.
There is some competition in midfield though.
Jorginho and N’Golo Kanté are certain starters but any one of Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus Cheek or Mateo Kovačić could start alongside them.
In a potentially tough away game, Kovačić will probably get the nod, if confirmed fit, which seems likely.
Was Loftus Cheek’s goal at the weekend enough to get him into the team?
Pedro’s goal at the weekend should be enough to get him a start over Willian.
Depending on how serious Sarri is taking this game, Hazard may be rested with Man City on Saturday in mind.
Olivier Giroud will keep his place over Álvaro Morata.
Can the Blues get their 10th Premier League win?

Maurizio Sarri: ‘I think we were in control of the match. In terms of goal opportunities it was six two, so we were in control but a bit nervous.’
