Wolves linked with James Tarkowski/how this may impact Leicester & John Stones

Wolves & Burnley’s James Tarkowski

Could Burnley centre-half James Tarkowski join Wolves this summer?

England international Tarkowski, 26, is under contract at Burnley until 2022.

Last season in the Premier League, Tarkowski made 35 appearances, scoring three goals.

The Times on Thursday reveal that Wolves are interested in signing Tarkowski this summer. Readers are told:

Wolverhampton Wanderers have approached Burnley to inquire about James Tarkowski, the England defender.

Tarkowski has three years left on a contract he signed last year at Turf Moor so Burnley can expected a make a huge profit on the £3 million they paid Brentford for him in 2016.

Impact on Leicester & John Stones

The Times also report that Tarkowski is a target for Leicester City.

Leicester are scouring the market for possible replacements, should Harry Maguire leave the Foxes to join Man United.

Rumours have suggested that Man United would need to stump up 75 million pounds to convince Leicester to sell Maguire.

Sticking with Leicester’s possible centre-half signings this summer, two other names are mentioned by the Times.

The first is Brighton’s Lewis Dunk, while Man City’s John Stones is also linked to the Foxes:

Leicester have identified Tarkowski, along with Brighton’s Lewis Dunk, as a potential replacement for Harry Maguire.

Leicester’s handling of Maguire’s situation is likely to be the key to a significant part of the summer transfer market, with implications for the likes of Tarkowski, Dunk and John Stones.

Vincent Kompany displaced John Stones from the Man City XI in the second half of last season.

In total, Stones made 20 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League last year.

The England defender also made five starts and one substitute appearance in the Champions League.

A word on Everton

Everton are also linked with a possible move for Burnley’s Tarkowski.

The Times also report that Kurt Zouma is likely to return to Chelsea for the 2019-20 season after his season-long loan at Everton.
