Wolves set to complete permanent signing of Raul Jimenez-Telegraph

Jimenez’s time at Wolves

Raul Jimenez joined Wolves from Benfica last summer on a season-long loan.

The loan fee paid by Wolves to Benfica is believed to be around £2.7m and is proving to be worth every penny.

After 30 games of the season, newly-promoted Wolves sit in an incredibly impressive 7th place.

A big part of why they are doing so well is because they have a top goalscorer in Jimenez.

The Mexican has made 30 appearances in the league this campaign, in which he has scored 12 and assisted seven.

Jimenez has also made five FA Cup appearances, scoring three in those games.

Wolves to sign Jimenez for £25m

Given how well he has done on loan with Wolves, it is no surprise they are looking to sing the 27-year-old on a permanent basis.

According to the Telegraph, Wolves are in the closing stages of making Jimenez a full-time Wolves player with a deal expected to be announced before the season is over.

Wolves’ previous transfer record was £18m that they paid last summer for ex-Middlesbrough winger, Adama Traore.

Jimenez’s fee, however, will reportedly be somewhere in the region of £25m, upfront.

But it could also rise to around £30m with bonuses.

While signing Jimenez is great news, Wolves must now turn their attention to Burnley who they face this weekend.

Burnley sit 17th in the league and are without a win in their last four league outings.

They are also just two points above the relegation zone.
