Salomon Rondon & West Brom
Venezuelan international striker Salomon Rondon spent the 2018-19 season on loan from West Brom at Newcastle United.
Rondon was one of Newcastle’s top players last term.
The South American scored 11 goals and chipped in with seven assists in the Premier League.
Overall, Rondon scored 15 goals for Newcastle in all competitions last term.
Wolves vs Newcastle
So where will Rondon be at the start of the 2019-20 season?
Now that the campaign is over, Rondon is officially a West Brom player once more.
The Baggies failed to win promotion last term, meaning WBA will once again be playing Championship football next year.
It seems unthinkable that Rondon will be at the Hawthorns come August, yet it’s also unclear where the forward is going.
According to the Shropshire Star on Monday, Wolves are leading Newcastle in the race to sign Rondon. Readers are told:
Wolves are the current front-runners for the signature of Salomon Rondon, having made the most ground on a potential deal with rivals Albion.
The 29-year-old has a release clause of £16.5million – and has just 12 months left on his existing contract.
Wolves aren’t believed to have met that release clause, but Rondon is thought to be interested in a switch to Molineux.
Should Rondon move to Wolves, the assumption is that he’d be in competition with Raul Jiminez for a starting berth.
Wolves, of course, have qualified for the Europa League in 2019-20.
Salomon Rondon & Copa America
Salomon Rondon is now preparing for the Copa America with Venezuela.
Venezuela are in a group with Brazil, Peru and Bolivia.
