Wolves knocked back in 40 million Euro Boubakary Soumaré bid – RMC

As per a report from French outlet RMC Sport, Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers have seen a big-money offer for Lille talent Boubakary Soumare rejected.

Lille prodigy

Soumare, a 20-year-old midfielder, came up through the youth ranks of PSG, before departing the French capital for Ligue 1 rivals Lille two years ago.

And, after working his way into more consistent playing time at the Stade Pierre Mauroy over the seasons since, Soumare subsequently went on to enjoy his finest campaign to date in 2018/19.

All told, the youngster racked up 18 Ligue 1 appearances, as Lille shocked the masses to secure a 2nd-placed finish in the French top-flight.

Soumare, who can act as either a deep-lying midfielder or in a more advanced role, is also a regular at underage level for France.

Wolves rebuffed

And the gifted starlet’s impressive displays for both club and country certainly don’t appear to have gone unnoticed.

The early months of this year previously saw Soumare linked with a quartet of Premier League clubs:

As per the aforementioned update courtesy of Mohamed Bouhafsi of RMC Sport, though, another English outfit have today emerged as a keen suitor of the Lille man’s signature.

The club in question are Nuno Espiritio Santo’s Wolves.

In fact, Bouhafsi goes as far as to suggest that the Midlands side tabled a big-money bid for Soumare.

The offer in question is said to have been worth 40 million Euro.

The player himself, though, knocked back Wolves’ advances, with Soumare reportedly keen to remain at Lille for another season, to continue his development.

Everton, meanwhile, are once again also named as an interested party:
