As per a report from the Telegraph, out-of-favour Wolves attacker Ivan Cavaleiro is inching towards a loan move to Championship outfit Fulham.
25-year-old wide-man Cavaleiro has been on the books of Wolves since the summer of 2016, when he made the move to Molineux from Ligue 1 side Monaco.
The twice-capped Portuguese international subsequently went on to play a key role in the successes of the Wanderers over the campaigns that followed, with Cavaleiro’s 9 goals and 12 assists in the Championship in 2017/18 having proved crucial in the club’s return to the Premier League.
This past season, though, saw the Benfica youth product largely struggle for game-time.
As Nuno Espirito adopted a system featuring a pair of wing-backs and two attackers, Cavaleiro was often left out in the cold.
All told, the winger notched 5 goals and an an assist in 29 appearances across all competitions.
As such, reports in the English media this afternoon suggest that Cavaleiro will be allowed to depart Molineux this summer.
And the outfit who look set to benefit from the Portuguese star’s availability are Championship side Fulham.
As per the aforementioned update courtesy of John Percy of the Telegraph, Cavaleiro is on the verge of making the move to Craven Cottage on a season-long loan.
Significantly, it is also claimed that the Londoners will have an option to purchase the 25-year-old outright next summer.
