Wolves confirm Matt Doherty injury
On Wednesday, Wolves have confirmed that their flying right-sided defender Matt Doherty is injured.
Doherty had an outstanding season in the Premier League in 2018-19.
The Irish international was a must-have in FPL, as he scored four goals and chipped in with seven assists in 38 Premier League games.
Overall, Doherty scored eight goals for Wolves last season, while contributing ten assists.
On the defender’s latest setback, the club have confirmed that Doherty hasn’t traveled with the rest of the squad to Austria for pre-season training:
Matt Doherty is a notable absentee after picking up an injury during pre-season, while Romain Saiss and Raul Jimenez will not travel due to recent international commitments.
Wolves fail to specify the nature of Doherty’s injury.
The Express & Star, however, report that the injury is only “minor”.

The Diego Costa transfer rumour
Rumours are spreading online that Diego Costa could sign for Wolves this summer.
The former Chelsea forward is under contract at Atletico Madrid until 2021.
Putting two and two together to get five, many are speculating that Costa isn’t wanted at Atletico anymore, after the Rojiblanocs signed Alvaro Morata and Joao Felix.
Birmingham Live have told their readers that “Diego Costa is a client of super-agent Jorge Mendes – a man known to have incredibly close links to Wolves and owners Fosun.”
Despite this, right now there’s little to suggest that Wolves are preparing a move for Costa.

Diego Costa is a horrible footballer. He’s spiteful, antagonistic, selfish and an absolute nightmare to play against. And if you think for one second I want him playing for #wwfc you’d be absolutely right.
