Harry Kane’s immediate replacement?
Tottenham are reportedly close to signing Real Sociedad striker Willian José, amid suggestions that the player will now travel to London to complete the move.
Spurs have seemingly been in the market for a striker following Harry Kane’s recent injury.
The Englishman suffered a bad hamstring injury, with suggestions from Jose Mourinho that he could miss the remainder of the season.
‘News on Harry, we don’t have and if you ask me every time we come here the answer will be the same,’ he explained.
‘We expect him to be out until mid-April, end of April, May, next season. I don’t know.’
As a result, Spurs have been linked with several strikers in the current window.
Now, a new name has been linked with a move to Spurs.
Willian Jose set for Spurs move, due in London soon
According to Spanish outlet AS, a deal to sign Real Sociedad striker Willian José is ‘close’.
They claim that Jose Mourinho has chosen the Brazilian as the player to replace Harry Kane this season.
Willian Jose has scored a solid eight goals in 20 La Liga appearances so far this season.
According to AS’ report, ‘everything is in place for the striker to sign with Spurs and will travel to London on Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning.’
They fail to mention a potential fee, but do reveal that Willian Jose has a release clause of €70 million, though they don’t expect the fee to be worth that much.
This signing would come at a good time for Spurs, who struggled to find a way past Watford last weekend.

Willian Jose left out of Real Sociedad squad vs Espanyol
To further suggestions of a potential move, Willian Jose withdrew from Real Sociedad’s squad on Wednesday evening ‘to clarify his situation’.
The Spanish side were set to play Espanyol, but Julen Lobete had to be drafted in.
That certainly adds some legitimacy to AS’ report.
