Will Hughes injury update after being subbed off vs Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace vs Watford

Watford travelled to Crystal Palace on Saturday in one of five 3 pm kick-offs.

Watford began the weekend in 9th place but could have moved up to 7th with a win over Crystal Palace.

However, the Hornets had failed to win any of their last three league games before Saturday.

Watford did pick up a win last weekend though as they beat Woking Town 2-0 in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

As for Crystal Palace, they started the weekend in 14th place but could not move any higher, even with a win vs Watford.

What Palace could do though is put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone.

Will Hughes injury update

The first half of Saturday’s clash saw plenty of chances for both teams with Palace and Watford having nine and seven goal attempts respectably.

It would be Palace who broke the deadlock as Craig Cathcart put the ball in his own net in the 39th minute.

This was Cathcart’s second own goal of the season.

As well as going 1-0 down, Watford were handed a big injury blow vs Palace.

Will Hughes would suffer a blow to the head midway through the first half and was subbed off with a suspected concussion.

Hughes has been a key member of Watford’s squad this season featuring in 18 league games so far.

Watford’s next game sees them host Burnley, it is currently unknown if Hughes will be ok to feature.
