Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield
When the Premier League restarts this weekend, Crystal Palace take on Huddersfield at Selhurst Park.
In the corresponding fixture last season, Huddersfield stunned the Eagles with a 3-0 away win.
These days the mood around Huddersfield is dark.
The Terriers have been rock bottom of the league for months, and they are dead-certs to drop into the Championship.
Will Crystal Palace go down with them?
It feels like the Eagles are unlikely to be relegated, but they are still not assured of safety.
Roy Hodgson’s men are 14th in the league with 33 points from 30 games.
Wilfried Zaha injury update
Prior to the international break, Watford beat Crystal Palace in the FA Cup quarterfinals.
Wilfried Zaha played no part in the Watford match as Palace’s star player was sidelined with a hamstring problem.
To the chagrin of Palace fans, Zaha subsequently left south London during the international break to join up with the Ivory Coast squad.
However Zaha didn’t play a single minute for the Ivorians.
Will Zaha be back for Palace against Huddersfield? That issue has been examined in the Evening Standard:
The 26-year-old was assessed by Ivory Coast’s medical staff upon his arrival and consequently he played no part in Saturday’s match against Rwanda.
He will now continue working at the club’s training ground as he bids to be fit for Saturday’s match against Huddersfield.
Wilfried Zaha due back in England today after not playing a minute of international football for Ivory Coast.
Had hamstring strain before international break, but was called up anyway by Ivory Coast.
