Wilfried Zaha & Alexander Sorloth updates before Everton

Everton vs Crystal Palace

The Eagles head to Goodison Park on Saturday in the Premier League.

It’ll be the first time many of the Crystal Palace squad face former manager Sam Allardyce since he left Selhurst Park at the end of last season.

Everton come into the game on the back of a 5-1 drumming at Arsenal last weekend.

New signing Eliaquim Mangala had a nightmare performance after his Man City move, while Everton were awful as they conceded four first half goals.

Crystal Palace drew 1-1 against Newcastle last time out.

Wilfried Zaha & Alexander Sorloth updates

Following the 1-1 draw with Newcastle last weekend in the Premier League, news filtered out of Selhurst Park that Wilfried Zaha is injured.

News of Zaha’s injury caught Crystal Palace fans offguard as the Ivory Coast international completed the 90 minutes against Newcastle.

Original reports suggested that Zaha could be out for the rest of the season, however they now seem wide of the mark.

On Thursday, Roy Hodgson met the press before the Everton game, and the Eagles manager gave the first official update on Zaha.

While confirming Palace’s star man will miss the Everton game, a return within a few weeks wasn’t ruled out.

With Zaha out, could new signing Alexander Sorloth start in attack at Everton?

Christian Benteke is clearly off form, while Palace have lost the likes of Bakary Sako to injury in recent weeks.

Hodgson confirmed that Sorloth is ready to play is called upon.
