Le Parisien have dismissed reports that Paris Saint-Germain are set to sign Frenkie de Jong.
De Telegraaf released claims on Thursday that the young Ajax midfielder would be joining the Ligue 1 champions next summer.
However, according to the Paris-based newspaper, PSG are unwilling to meet Ajax’s €75m asking price.
De Jong to PSG rumours dismissed
Officials from the French capital have met with the player’s agent and had been keen on a move.
But upon learning the Dutch club’s asking price, their interest has since dwindled.
It is understood that PSG’s reported interest was announced in order to generate offers from other clubs.
Ajax were hoping the likes of Manchester City and FC Barcelona would potion themselves to rival a PSG offer.
Both clubs have shown a real keen interest in the highly-rated 21-year-old.
De Jong’s agent denies PSG move
De Jong’s agent has also come out to deny his player is set to join PSG in the summer.
He has also guaranteed that the youngster will not be leaving the Johan Cruijff Arena this season.
Ali Durson told NOS:
“No deal with PSG yet.
“Frenkie is guaranteed to stay with Ajax until the summer and I cannot say anything about it.”
