Why Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed Wolves vs Arsenal

Wolves vs Arsenal

Arsenal and Wolves are set to go head-to-head in one of two Premier League games on Wednesday.

A win for Unai Emery’s side will move them above Chelsea into 5th place and put them just one point behind Tottenham.

However, Wolves will be no pushover with the newly-promoted side bosting quite an impressive record vs the top six this season.

This is also a key game for Wolves in their race for European football.

Aubameyang misses out, Mustafi benched & Sokratis returns

Given the importance of this tie, Arsenal fans will have likely been excepting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to be leading the line.

Aubameyang is Arsenal’s top scorer this season, finding the net 18 times in the league already.

However, when the line-ups were revealed an hour before kick-off, Aubameyang wasn’t in the matchday squad at all.

It has since been reported that Aubameyang missed the Wolves clash due to a sinus procedure.

However, he is expected to be back to face Leicester City on Sunday.

On a slightly more positive note for Arsenal fans, Shkodran Mustafi has been dropped after another dismal display vs Crystal Palace last weekend.

The Gunners were also able to welcome back Sokratis from suspension.
