Why Phil Foden is missing for Manchester City vs Arsenal

Arsenal vs Manchester City

Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off will see Arsenal and Manchester City go head to head.

Arsenal will face one of their toughest tests of the season when they take on Pep Guardiola’s rampant champions.

The Gunners are currently on a fine run of form, which has seen them win four on the bounce in the Premier League and climb up to 4th in the table.

However, Arsenal have not had to deal with a top team for several weeks now.

And, when they did so earlier in the campaign, Mikel Arteta’s men struggled, losing 5-0 to Manchester City in the reverse fixture back in August.

The north Londoners have also lost to Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United already this term, with Tottenham the only ‘big-six’ side whom they have picked up three points against.

Additionally, Manchester City are in superb form at present, boasting both the best attack and best defence in the English top-flight this season.

Why Phil Foden is missing vs Arsenal

Ahead of the game, both sides released their starting line-ups an hour before kick-off.

Manchester City’s proved largely as expected, but did feature one rather notable omission from both the starting eleven and matchday squad as a whole, as Phil Foden missed out altogether.

Now, though, it has been confirmed that Foden is not fully fit:
