Supporters of FC Barcelona need not fret, as an explanation for the presence of teenage sensation Gavi's representative at the headquarters of arch rivals Real Madrid has been provided.

The subject of midfielder Gavi's future has of course proven headline news across the Spanish media for some time now.

This comes with the Blaugrana academy product, already both a first-team regular and senior Spanish international at the tender age of 17, yet to commit his long-term future to Xavi Hernandez's troops.

His current deal in the Catalan capital, meanwhile, is due to expire in the summer of 2023.

Upon news spreading earlier this week that Gavi's agent, Ivan de la Pena, had been spotted in attendance at the offices of none other than Barca's arch rivals Real Madrid, concern, in turn, quickly set in amongst sections of the former's fanbase.

As alluded to above, however, if the latest word stemming from the press is anything to go by, then the Blaugrana faithful need not worry.

As per Jose Felix Diaz of Spanish outlet Marca, de la Pena in fact made the trip to Valdebebas to negotiate the contract renewal of Real Madrid B talent Marc Cucalon, another of his clients.

Dembele amongst the goals

And, when all was said and done, the upturn in form being enjoyed by Xavi’s troops only continued, as goals from all of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ousmane Dembele, Luuk de Jong and Memphis Depay guided the club to a head-turning 4-0 triumph.
