Why Angel Di Maria could be banned for second leg vs Manchester United

RMC Sport report that Angel Di Maria is at risk of being banned for the second leg of Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League clash with Manchester United.

The Argentinian forward could face a one-match ban under UEFA Article 15 after “provoking supporters” at Old Trafford.

Di Maria was subject to a large amount of abuse from United supporters as he returned to his former club last night.

Following much provocation from the United support, Di Maria finally snapped and hit back after PSG’s opening goal.

The 30-year-old shouted abusive language towards the home supporters which could now see him land in hot water.

UEFA’s ruling states that players can face one-match bans for provoking opposition supporters.

United fans’ targeting of Di Maria seemed very unfair considering he left after failing to find his feet in the Premier League.

Fortunately for the player, his career has been rejuvenated in the French capital and he played a key role in PSG’s 2-0 win.
