Harry Kane’s ridiculous September
If Harry Kane does suffer from an August curse, the Spurs striker is blessed in September.
Tottenham beat Huddersfield 4-0 on Saturday in the Premier League, and Kane was again amongst the goals.
Kane bagged a brace in another fabulous performance from the England international.
After his hat-trick last week in the Champions League against APOEL, Kane closed out September scoring an incredible 13 goals in all competitions.
Harry Kane v Romelu Lukaku
Kane, of course has won the Premier League Golden Boot trophy for the past two seasons running.
And, after the Huddersfield game, the Spurs striker is again near top of the EPL scoring charts.
The Tottenham attacker has six goals in seven league matches.
Man United’s Romelu Lukaku, however, is top of the pile with seven goals in seven games.
Lukaku was also on target on Saturday during a 4-0 whitewash against Crystal Palace.
What’s Pochettino doing?
During the BBC’s Match of the Day show on Saturday night, Alan Shearer had a pop at Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Shearer has picked up on a trend at Spurs this season; Kane keeps being taken off in the final minutes of the match.
For Shearer, he believes Pochettino may be missing a trick with those changes.
The Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer has argued that Pochettino could be denying Kane a hatful of late goals by constantly withdrawing him.
Shearer drew a contrast between Kane and Lukaku, as the Man United forward has been cashing in with late goals with regularity in recent times.
As for Ian Wright, the forward Arsenal striker joked that he hopes Kane leaves Spurs in the neat future.
