Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has provided a brief insight into the wellbeing of attacker Diogo Jota, on the back of his side’s downing of Arsenal on Saturday.

Klopp of course led his side back into action a little over 24 hours ago.

In their first outing on the back of the international break, the Reds welcomed high-flying Arsenal to Anfield, desperate for all three points in their efforts to keep pace with Premier League table-toppers Chelsea.

And, when all was said and done on Merseyside, emerge triumphant is precisely what Liverpool managed.

A dominant display, during which Arsenal were provided with a timely reminder of the gap that remains to the best-of-the-best in English football, ultimately played out into a 4-0 final scoreline.

Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Takumi Minamino were all on target for the hosts, who climbed back into 3rd in the Premier League table, four points adrift of Chelsea.

As alluded to above, however, amid an otherwise positive day’s work for Liverpool on Saturday, one concern was also forthcoming, on the personnel front.

This came in the form of Diogo Jota’s enforced exit from proceedings, fifteen minutes from time.

The Reds have of course been forced to deal with a whole host of injury problems over the early months of the campaign, and with Roberto Firmino already sidelined, simply cannot afford to see Jota join the list of walking wounded at Anfield for any significant stretch of time moving forward.

In turn, Jurgen Klopp was, post-match, inevitably drawn on the wellbeing of the Portuguese.

And the Liverpool boss went on to confirm that Jota suffered a ‘proper knock on his knee’, amid hopes that ensuing tests over the days ahead will reveal ‘nothing serious’:
