West Ham’s fans will love Jesse Lingard’s latest Man United exit hint as January bid readied

After Manchester United star Jesse Lingard dropped a potentially telling hint over his future this afternoon, an update on West Ham United’s plans to lure the midfielder back to the club in January has been provided.

Hammers standout

The name of English international Lingard of course took centre stage in the media chatter throughout the summer transfer window.

This came with the 28-year-old fresh off the back of something of a career revival over the 2nd half of last season.

After again struggling for game-time over the opening half of the campaign at Old Trafford, Lingard was farmed out on loan to West Ham, with whom he went on to exceed all expectations.

Having been handed the freedom of the Hammers’ ranks in the middle of the park to operate, the creative midfielder quickly established himself as one of the Premier League’s standout performers.

All told, he racked up nine goals and four assists across 16 appearances in the colours of West Ham, the kind of form which culminated in a Player and Goal of the Month double back in April:

Capital comeback?

Such stellar exploits, in turn, led to inevitable chatter that Lingard could go on to seal a swift return to the London Stadium, on the back of his loan stint coming to an end back in June.

When all was said and done, however, despite rampant speculation, such a move failed to come to fruition.

Instead, West Ham opted to bring in gifted Croatian international Nikola Vlasic from CSKA Moscow, in a deadline day deal:

But, as outlined above, if the latest developments on Thursday evening are anything to go by, then the West Ham faithful could yet have their wishes of a reunion granted.

First, taking to his official Instagram account, Lingard posted a photo of himself celebrating a goal in the colours of the Irons, accompanied by a West Ham tag:

And the United star’s future hint, in turn, has since been swiftly followed by a fresh insight into the January plans of those in a position of power at the London Stadium.

As per a report from The Telegraph, David Moyes and co. are ready to push forward with a new proposal for Lingard following the turn of the year:
