West Ham’s David Moyes admits Michail Antonio not ‘at full tilt’ ahead of FA Cup clash

West Ham’s David Moyes admits Michail Antonio not ‘at full tilt’ ahead of FA Cup clash

West Ham vs West Brom

West Ham were in Premier League action on Tuesday evening.

The Hammers played host to a struggling West Brom side, aiming to continue their fine recent run of form.

Jarrod Bowen opened the evening’s scoring in first-half injury-time.

West Brom then hit back just six minutes after the break, through Matheus Pereira.

However, Mr. reliable Michail Antonio soon stepped up, putting the Hammers back in front on 66 minutes, and guiding his side to a 2-1 win in the process.

Their latest 3-point haul guided West Ham up to 7th in the Premier League table, just two points adrift of 4th-placed Liverpool.

Moyes speaks out on Antonio’s fitness ahead of Doncaster

Though West Ham are now flying high in the league, they will need to turn their attention away from the English top-flight this weekend.

This comes with David Moyes’ men set to return to FA Cup action vs Doncaster on Saturday.

The Hammers edged past Stockport in the competition’s 3rd round, and will no doubt be confident in their chances of seeing off their upcoming opponents, too.

They may be forced to do so, however, without one of the club’s key men, in the form of the aforementioned Antonio.

This is because, speaking post-West Brom, Moyes admitted that the forward is still ‘not at full tilt’.

In turn, with West Ham yet to sign a replacement for Sebastien Haller, Moyes will likely not be too keen to risk his side’s only decent striker vs a lower-league outfit this weekend:

He was excellent his goal was great, but he is still not at full tilt. We are asking a lot from him and he is turning into a ruthless striker.
