West Ham’s Andriy Yarmolenko challenges a football commentator to a fight

West Ham & Andriy Yarmolenko

Andriy Yarmolenko joined West Ham in the summer.

West Ham paid Borussia Dortmund £17.5 million for the Ukrainian international winger.

Yarmolenko has featured in every Premier League match for the Hammers this season. Although he’s only played 90 minutes once in the goalless draw against Chelsea.

Yarmolenko has two goals in the league, both scored against Everton.

Andriy Yarmolenko vs Wladimir Kobelkov

The West Ham winger is now with the Ukrainian national team in the international break.

It’s come to light that Yarmolenko isn’t best pleased with all the press coverage he’s received since moving to England.

In particular, Yarmolenko is furious with Ukrainian football commentator Wladimir Kobelkov.

It’s not exactly clear what Kobelkov said to trigger Yarmolenko, however the West Ham midfielder is ready to let his fists do the talking.

In a new interview with Xsport (as translated by Sport Witness), Yarmolenko has issued a challenge to fight Kobelkov:

In my youth, I fought a lot. There was wins and there were losses. It’s normal for a boy, for a man.

I want to announce my next fight. I don’t want to listen to that Kobelkov any longer.

I want to call him out for a fight and get my revenge on all those things he’s said on air. I’m waiting for an answer.

Yarmolenko should feature for the Ukraine when they take on Italy in an international friendly on Friday night.

The Ukraine then face the Czech Republic in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday.
