West Ham vs Norwich prediction: West Ham 2-2 Norwich

West Ham up and running.

Last weekend, the Hammers got their first win of the campaign and, another victory this weekend would finish off a perfect week.

As for Norwich, they have made a bright start to life back in the top-flight, despite a less than kind fixture list.

Will the London Stadium be celebrating a home win or will the Canaries leave the capital with something?

At the third attempt, West Ham won in the league.

The Hammers were given the terrible task of hosting Manchester City on the opening day and, slumped to a 5-0 defeat.

Then, Javier Hernández’s goal helped them to a 1-1 draw on the South Coast against Brighton and Hove Albion.

But, last weekend was when they properly got their season up and running.

The Irons traveled to Vicarage Road to take on Watford and were awarded a penalty in just the second minute.

Mark Noble, 15 year to the day after he made his debut for the club, stepped up and coolly slotted home.

Only three players have scored more Premier League penalties than Noble’s 25.

Watford did get it back to 1-1 before half time but, two goals in nine minutes from Sébastien Haller in the second half saw Manuel Pellegrini’s side to a 3-1 win.

A 100th Premier League away win for West Ham and three valuable points.

Then, on Tuesday, they made the trip to Rodney Parade to take on Newport County in the Carabao Cup second round.

First goals for the club for Jack Wilshere and then Pablo Fornals saw them to a relatively routine 2-0 victory.

It’s been a very good week for West Ham so will they make it three wins in a row?

As for Norwich, they are early season contenders for the league’s entertainers.

They too were given one of the very toughest fixtures you could get on the opening day.

Daniel Farke’s team began life in the Premier League at Anfield and, despite losing 4-1, there was plenty to be positive about.

That certainly proved to be the case just a week later.

A hat-trick from Teemu Pukki saw his side to a 3-1 win over Newcastle in their first home game of the season.

Well and truly back.

Last weekend, they hosted Frank Lampard’s Chelsea in another end to end thriller.

Chelsea took the lead after just three minutes before Todd Cantwell equalised just 156 seconds later.

Timed at five minutes and 32 seconds, that is the earliest time taken for both teams to score in a Premier League match since November 2017.

The scoring was far from over.

Before the half hour mark, Chelsea had retaken the lead only to be pegged back once more, this time Pukki scoring again.

But, in the second half it was the Europa League winners who won it, leaving Carrow Road 3-2 victors.

Norwich then had the chance to bounce back on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup second round.

However, the Canaries were beaten by League Two’s Crawley Town 1-0 at Broadfield Stadium; a side 63 places below the in the league ladder.

Disappointment for Daniel Farke but he’ll surely be more concerned with getting some more league points on the board.

Norwich’s first three games have witnessed 14 goals, the most in the league.

Will it be another goal-fest in East London?

Manuel Pellegrini gave some fringe players a chance on Tuesday night, making ten changes.

However, this XI is expected to look more like the one that started against Watford seven days ago.

Roberto made his debut in Newport but regular number one Łukasz Fabiański will be back in here.

The Pole in goal has conceded seven goals already this season, the joint-second most, although five of those were in one game.

At full-back, Arthur Masuaku and Ryan Fredericks will come back in for Aaron Cresswell and Pablo Zabaleta receptively.

Issa Diop in the only man who started both of West Ham’s last two matches.

Fabián Balbuena was his partner in the Carabao Cup but Angelo Ogbonna will be back in for this one.

Jack Wilshere started and scored in midfield on Tuesday night.

That was his first goal in the League Cup since he scored in his first appearance in the competition in September 2008 for Arsenal, 3990 days ago.

However, he’s likely to be back on the bench for this one.

Carlos Sánchez and the other goalscorer Pablo Fornals will also be on the bench with Rice, Lanzini and Noble rekindling their trio.

Michail Antonio went off injured just eight minutes into the mid-week game and could face a number of weeks out.

Felipe Anderson, who came on for him, and Andriy Yarmolenko will provide the width here.

Sébastien Haller, who scored a brace at Watford, will continue to lead the line.

He became the 150th different goal-scorer for West Ham in the Premier League, the first club to reach that figure.

Javier Hernández and Albian Ajeti, who made his debut in South Wales, will be amongst the substitutes.

Will West Ham make it three wins in a week?

As for the visitors, Daniel Farke went all the way and made eleven changes to his XI in the League Cup.

However, as they lost 1-0 to fourth-tier Crawley, it’s likely to be the same side that took to the field against Chelsea.

Tim Krul has already conceded eight goals this season, the most of any Premier League goalkeeper.

However, he will be back in for summer signing Ralf Fährmann.

At centre-back, both Timm Klose and Christoph Zimmermann suffered injuries in midweek in the Carabao Cup.

Grant Hanley will continue to partner Ben Godfrey at the heart of Norwich’s backline.

Full-back Max Aarons is one of six Norwich players to have played every Premier League minute so far.

In midfield, Patrick Roberts and Ibrahim Amadou made their debuts on Tuesday alongside Mario Vrančić, Kenny McLean and Dennis Srbeny.

However, they will all drop back out of the side.

Emi Buendía has impressed many so far, providing two assists in his first three Premier League games.

However, there is only one man of the moment.

Last weekend, Teemu Pukki became the tenth player to have scored in each of his first three Premier League appearances.

However, only Pavel Pogrebnyak can match Pukki’s five goals in his first three in the competition.

No player has ever scored more than six goals in the Premier League in the month of August.

Can Pukki break that record and fire Norwich to an away win?
