West Ham 0 – Watford 2
Watford picked up three points at West Ham on Saturday in the Premier League.
The Hammers came into the match full of confidence following four wins on the spin in the league.
But Watford proved themselves to be party-poopers with a 2-0 away victory.
Troy Deeney fired Watford in front with a penalty in the 30th minute.
Gerard Deulofeu sealed the win for Watford with a second three minutes from time.
West Ham fan set for a lifetime ban after Watford
One West Ham supporter will forever remember the Watford match.
That’s because the supporter is now facing a lifetime ban as a result of their behaviour after Watford’s opener.
After Troy Deeney smashed home a penalty, the Watford striker celebrated in front of the West Ham fans.
One Irons supporter found that celebration to be too much.
They threw a plastic cup in Deeney’s direction, and that could stop them from ever attending another West Ham game.
The Sun have reported the following statement from West Ham:
In line with our zero tolerance approach, anyone identified will have their details passed to the police and will face a lifetime ban from London Stadium. There is no place for this kind of behaviour at our stadium.
Troy Deeney explains his West Ham goal celebration
After the match, Watford’s in-house TV channel spoke to Troy Deeney about his goal celebration.
Deeney joked that he also broke his knees with a failed knee slide.
However, when it came to claims he provoked and incited the West Ham supporters, Deeney explained his actions as follows:
People have an opinion on me and my family and that’s the only way I can shut them up.
I get in trouble sometimes but this one I’m all right.
