West Ham vs Manchester City
West Ham United start the new Premier League season at home to reigning champions Man City.
Man City have won the Premier League title for the past two seasons under Pep Guardiola.
The Hammers, meanwhile, will be looking to challenge the top six following yet another busy summer.
Captain Mark Noble confirmed out
Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed on Thursday that Irons captain Mark Noble is out for the Man City match.
The West Ham manager confirmed:
For the moment we have Mark Noble still injured and won’t be available, but all the other players are fit.
Noble’s absence isn’t a huge surprise.
The West Ham skipper has missed the last three friendlies of the summer after picking up a dead leg.
Noble hasn’t yet returned to training.

Good news for Lukasz Fabianski
Earlier in the week, West Ham fans were alerted to an injury problem for Polish keeper Lukasz Fabianski.
It was reported that Fabianski had undergone an MRI scan on a groin problem he picked up earlier this pre-season which the Pole aggravated in the warm-up prior to their 5-3 victory over Hertha Berlin.
From Pellegrini’s update, the expectation is that Fabianski will start his side’s Premier League opener:
He’s FIT for Saturday! 😅 *and breathe* pic.twitter.com/cDeswoqVq5

Pellegrini has mentioned wanting West Ham to play like a “big team” multiple times this offseason. Said it again today. Referenced beating Spurs at end of season.
I’m not saying West Ham can upset City in matchweek 1, but Pellegrini sounds like he’s going to have a go at them.
