The Bayer Leverkusen hitman has a £13 million release clause, making him one of the potential bargains of the summer.
Chicharito scored 39 goals in 76 games for the Bundesliga club, including six in European competition.
Premier League pedigree
Chicharito also has pedigree when it comes to the Premier League because of his time at Manchester United.
The Mexican forward scored 37 goals across four full Premier League seasons. This is especially impressive as he was often used off the bench. Since being sold to Leverkusen, Chicharito has proved his worth.
Hammers been busy
After a slow start to the transfer window, West Ham appear to be picking up pace in the recruitment stakes.
Pablo Zabaleta joined on a free transfer from Man City, Joe Hart has also moved from Man City on loan, while Stoke’s Austrian star Marko Arnautovic is due to move to the Irons in a club record transfer deal.
