West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has this afternoon provided an update on the fitness of attacker Marko Arnautovic.
West Ham 3-1 Cardiff
The Hammers welcomed Cardiff City to the London Stadium on Tuesday night, with the hosts having eventually emerged with a 3-1 victory.
Lucas Perez notched a brace early in the second-half after emerging off the West Ham bench, before Michail Antonio made sure of the home side’s 3 points with the Irons’ 3rd on the hour mark.
Lucas Perez had not scored a Premier League goal since January 2017.
The forward has managed two in the space of five minutes for West Ham – and that’s after coming on as a substitute in the first half!

Josh Murphy did manage to bag a late consolation for Cardiff deep into injury-time, but the Bluebirds were frankly just outclassed in the English capital.
‘Out for around a month’
However, while the performance and result were of a hugely-positive nature for West Ham on Tuesday, there was, unfortunately, also one considerable sour note for Manuel Pellegrini’s men, on the injury front.
The player to have picked up the problem versus Cardiff was star man Marko Arnautovic.
Austrian attacker Arnautovic limped off with a hamstring problem 5 minutes before the interval, before subsequently taking to Instagram yesterday to confirm that he would not return to the pitch ‘for a while’:
Get well soon, Arnie 🙏 pic.twitter.com/uv4WiQNe6X

And West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has this afternoon provided a a further update on ‘Arnie”s condition:
‘Arnautovic has a muscle injury. He will probably be out for around one month. We know how important he is for this team.’
Pellegrini also spoke briefly on Jack Wilshere’s attempts to return to full fitness:
‘Wilshere is not 100% comfortable so he won’t be available (to face Crystal Palace this weekend), but I think it will just be for this game.’
