Supporters of West Ham United have flooded to social media on Thursday, to single one member of the club’s frontline out for widespread praise.
The Irons, of course, were back in action a short time ago.
Eyeing a spot in the group stages of the Europa Conference League, David Moyes’ troops made the trip to Denmark, aware that they needed only avoid a defeat of two goals or more to sail through at the expense of hosts Viborg.
And, when all was said and done, the capital outfit managed precisely that.
A dominant showing ultimately saw West Ham emerge on the right side of a 3-0 scoreline, owing to strikes on the part of all of Gianluca Scamacca, Said Benrahma, and Tomas Soucek.
And one member of this trio, as alluded to above, has since been singled out for altogether deserved praise on the part of the Hammers faithful.
The player in question? Gianluca Scamacca.
Hitman Scamacca was in from the off once again on Thursday, afforded his 2nd start after opening his account in the reverse leg versus Viborg last week.
And the summer arrival at the London Stadium went on to make it two from two in Europe this season, amid an impressive all-round display.
In turn, not only has Scamacca been widely hailed by fans of his new club, but calls have begun to mount for David Moyes to immediately introduce the Italian international to his first-choice XI on the domestic front, too, starting this weekend against Aston Villa.
