West Ham 0 – Brighton 3
Slaven Bilic was hanging on as it was before losing 3-0 at home to Brighton.
On Friday, things got seriously tricky for Bilic who is now odds on to be sacked according to the latest odds from the bookies.
But, you might be able to get better odds on Ronald Koeman going first as West Ham do not appear to have made a decision today.
According to the very reliable @ExWHUemployee on Twitter, meetings were held today but no decision has been forthcoming.
He has Tweeted:
– The majority of candidates that have been considered to take over will not leave their current clubs.A caretaker replacement-always on cards.
– This decision has not yet been decided! Alternatives options are being looked at but many won’t leave till summer so temp being considered
– In the past Pellegrini (odds reduced massively) is someone we have shown an interest in, Wagner (won’t go till summer), Benitez and Mancini.
West Ham play Tottenham in a huge Carabao Cup match at Wembley on Wednesday evening.
Sack Race latest: Bilic slashed from 7/1 to 1/3 fav in 24 hours
Slaven Bilic now looks set to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post, according to Ladbrokes.
The bookies had Ronald Koeman down as the clear 1/6 favourite in the Sack Race market less than 24 hours ago, while the West Ham boss was as long as 7/1.
But a 3-0 hammering at home to Brighton on Friday night forced the bookies to slash the Croatian gaffer’s odds of facing the boot to just 1/3 – shorter than they’ve been all season.
Koeman still has it all to do to save his career at Everton, and 9/4 says he’s the next boss to be sent packing, while Burnley’s Sean Dyche is an 8/1 shot.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Pressure on Bilic has been growing since the first ball was kicked this season, and a thrashing against a newly promoted side has hardly done much to brighten spirits in East London. We wouldn’t be surprised to see The Hammers looking for a new boss as early as next week, while it could soon be curtains for Koeman too.”
